@ I second the Kendrick nomination, although I think his most recent effort would be more appropriate for this thread.

way OT but you can't honestly buy into Taylor's bs. She smeared Spotify and then when the biggest contender to take down Spotify is ready to be launched she makes a highly publicized comment and Apple changes their point of view overnight...? Suddenly everyone rejoices at Apple paying out more and Spotify looks even worse.

I wonder how much they paid her to make that post

the entire streaming service exclusive nonsense is a crock of shit, why would you want to limit the amount of access to your album when it's your 3rd biggest revenue stream behind touring and physical album sales

I would like to participate. As for suggestions, maybe Ratchet by Shamir or Peace Is The Mission by Major Lazer. Both are pretty recent releases, with only a few months on them.

Golden Echo is a great album. It's a shame she's still so underrated.

Betty is bae. One of my fave artists since early 2013. High Society >>>>>>> life itself.

Lana has sold between 6-7 million albums worldwide with two albums. She's mainstream. An alternative artist in genre, yes, but mainstream.

I'm sorry my dear but Lana is already mainstream.

I think "National Anthem" is generic, annoying piece of pop-ish song, and the first, faster version is much more fresh and positively mischievous; I don't like the hymnic tone of the BTD version and its simplificated, flat chorus. It is, actually, the only song of hers that I'm not fond of.
Also, "Flipside" is overly underestimated: it has grungy, chamber charm and haunting, echoing intro and end with provoking hurting question, very deep and intimate. I prefer that ninety, lo-fi, rough and raw sound over psychedelic grandeur of "Cruel World", more close to the pieces like "Get Drunk", but with added guitar growling, like its elaborated, inflamed extension.
Plus, "Off To The Races" is the best gem on BTD, most complex, charged with multiple emotional layers and lyrically excellent, with her versatile voice covering all isohypses and isobars of emotional experience.
Paradise "Yayo" is much weaker, cause it lacks the crucial part of the bridge, echoing "...dark night..." in the distance (this is for me the climax part), and her voice is much more insecure and unnecessary shivering and roaming, tracing invisible ornamental additions and ruining strong, effortlessly soft flowing spine of the melody of the original. The first version kicks ass.
