  1. elaborating on this bc i felt bad lol; the COCC mv was incredible but it just feels like there's a disconnect between the music and the visual these days like, unpopular opinion, but the COCC cover art is great imo, it just doesn't go with what's on the record, to me it feels disjointed - and the consistently low-effort visuals make anything that's even a little bit thoughtful, seem that much more impressive which i honestly think might be how lana likes it: she gives a fuck where she actually does, and does the bare minimum for every other contractual obligation
  2. honestly the cover art, if that's what it is, is a travesty & a mess, but i feel like the last time she gave us strong visuals was when she released the freak mv, lmao - which wasn't even made for that song, so the lo-fi vibe worked for nfr! (and made things like the doin' time mv stand out by comparison) but it's overstayed its welcome as long as the music's good i don't really care though tbh
  3. i'm waiting for the puriteens to reinterpret the july 4th release date as though it's lana's personal declaration of conservatism lmao, has that happened yet?
  4. her understanding of kink goes as deep as her understanding of racial tensions in america "you can be my daddy" and "my boyfriends have been rappers" fully have the same energy but idk if yall are ready for that conversation
  5. she said MILKERS and i have taken my lactase enzyme tablets i am READY
  6. the fact of the matter is that i WILL simp for arthur lynn edit: not me mixing up arthur lynn and steven mertens, the sentiment still applies either way
  7. sis has foot-in-mouth disease, wbk (at least, by twitter standards, where you need to preface and post-script everything w/ countless disclaimers, and people will still go out of their way to actively reinterpret what you're saying, according to their biases re: your character ) echoing what other users have already said, i don't expect lana to know much more about english royalty than she does about the kennedy family - which is to say, nothing of import, lmao (american education system, blah blah blah, blah blah blah) i'm swayed by iconography too, so i get the appeal (on some level anyway, as a european i'm not really a fan of monarchies ), but since we're all aware that we live in a #culture where offensive intent is the presumed default i just wish lana would express her inclinations and embody her (admittedly superficial) influences in ways that are more opaque/obfuscated in artistry, for her own sake when you veil things in parables, they often become "toothless" statements in service to a greater narrative/story, which are less likely to be taken as expressions of personal opinion (moreso the sum total of one's own impressions, because no two people will walk away from a piece of art with the exact same take-away) then again, people have readily victim-blamed her for singing about her experiences with domestic abuse, just because it wasn't framed in an uncomplicated, black-and-white way sooooooooo
