  1. THIS This pisses me off because it comes off as extremely petty. But also, we will never get a Music Video and performances of it live in an official capacity may not happen. On top of that, what I have bolded. It clearly meant a lot to Lana when she wrote it and I imagine being accused of copying another song when you have an honest emotion you want to express must feel so besides the point and spiteful. It sours the message a little bit for me, imagine it for Lana. There are similarities between Get Free and Creep. That's undeniable. However I believe legally the point is to determine how many significant similarities exist in order for it to constitute copyright infringement. Asking for 100% and trying to charge that is very bold to me, considering RH's own background with the song. However, with Blurred Line's messy trial (letting a jury decide if something was copyright infringement or not instead of relying on more objective measurements and the expertise of people with musical backgrounds) who the fuck knows. They could have no case (the similarities that I note are - while noticeable - not majorly important and not numerous throughout the entire song. It's quite limited. On top of the background of this song already having been sued successfully in the past - so RH doesn't have full ownership in the first place) OR they could win through some fucked up expansion of coverage in cases liike these, and again, it would just be for publicity. I have trouble believing that the members of Radiohead themselves actually think Lana stole their ideas or even musical elements. Similar is not identical. I think people have an image of Radiohead as being people that care about the freedom of art. I do not know them that well, but if this is true, how they are behaving now seems incredibly petty and gutsy at the same time. ~~~ I'm not claiming to be an expert, though I am going to school to eventually become a musicologist
  2. Oh my signed CD shipped a few days ago, forgot to update here. Should be arriving Monday I believe.
  3. Seeing the stage makes me kind of want to switch and buy a GA ticket but I'm still like 5'2 and frail and passive af and every GA experience I've had has been me getting fucking trampled, so I'm not sure if its worth it. {My seats are like, the first side area left of stage, pretty close) Was anyone here in seats? How was it? Did people stand? sit the whole show? etc?

    Cherry

Is this just an actually different version? The vocals sound layered differently (almost like Lana is singing live over the studio vocals) and then its just some editing. My question is are we gonna get the second version of Groupie Love with the extra like 20 seconds
  5. https://shoplanadelrey.com/collections/frontpage/products/lust-for-life-box-set-digital-album?variant=36806313874 But I think this is a US store. I also preordered a signed CD (that has yet to ship but if this shipped, who knows)
  6. Wow, I wish the strings were mixed more prominently in Cherry, they sound so atmospheric there :jonny:
  7. That version of Change, I kind of prefer parts of it, esp. in part 3 and 2
  8. Whew, Lana's studio voice is so stable and beautiful. I wonder if that piano intro to change was just to warm her up and get her in the right key and what not or if it was originally part of the song.
  9. Box Set arrived. Honestly shocked it did. Anyone else got theres?
  10. I can deal with Heroin being #1 over Get Free. It's my second favorite (or Love depending on the day tbh), It feels like a classic Lana song ala Ultraviolence and Honeymoon but with new energy acoustically. (Whew, can you imagine if this had Ultraviolence production? A MANIC guitar solo moment like SoC and PWYC ) Get Free would have been GODLY if it had even a hint of a bridge rather than an outro (or both, hit me with that 6:30 length song) It's so lyrically beautiful, and melodically. People are sleeping on GBA though, its an underrated bop. I wish she went up an octave in the chorus for the last chorus, but the melody in the verses is actually one of the best moments on the record for me. Even though the lyrics are quite vague, just thinking that she's thinking of all the people in America who don't feel safe on the streets (but that she wants them to be - in the future, the perspective the song is from) makes it quite emotional to me.
  11. Got an email that my boxset order shipped and will be here in a few days. It's a christmas miracle (Now where the **** is my autographed CD )

  13. Yes at all the acclaim for Love, whew, my favorite song of the year. Imagine if it had been a top 20 or top 10 hit. It really was her best chance at a hit in years and her team squandered it. Even had a beautiful, awe inspiring video already filmed. I truly believe this song could've been a hit and it deserves a nom for record of the year, but ofc I'm way too optimistic, lol.
  14. If I remember correctly, I listened to National Anthem on YouTube (saw the MV) and thought it was such a damn bop, I listened to Born to Die (Deluxe) on Spotify. Then it made its way onto my phone and was my most listened to album of 2012. Didn't stan though or know anything about her at all, I kind of just mindlessly listened to her music. Then Young and Beautiful and Paradise happened. Didn't notice Paradise, but DIED at Young and Beautiful, its such a beautiful song. It made me go back and re-listen to Born to Die and then Paradise actually paying attention to the lyrics and I fell in love with her lyricism and story-telling. Then Ultraviolence came out. I was lurking on basically every forum possible and getting HYPED, and I was ready for it to be full of dark bops just like BtD and Paradise, but then we got the leaked snippets and I was like "oh no this is a mess other than West Coast" Then I heard the whole album and every single song connected with me. I was supposed to go see a movie with my friend we had waited like 3 weeks to see, but instead I lied on my bed in the dark and listened to the album with headphones on and cried (like, cathartically) about how beautiful the album was. It kind of ressurrected my soul and (perhaps ironically?) saved me from my suicidal 2014 summer blues. I probably listened to that album start to finish like, 4 times a day. It was a narco-swing haze of emotions and it really just hit me at one of the lowest points of my life. It's a bit hard to explain psychologically why it was helpful (instead of pushing me further into depression rip) but that's for another day. That's when I knew I was a stan for life. I didn't really "follow" the BtD or Paradise eras, so I've never really been disappointed in the marketing and promotion since then, only sad that others don't get to appreciate her.
  15. In no order: Lana Del Rey - Lust for Life SZA - Ctrl Lorde - Melodrama Wednesday Campanella - SUPERMAN Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel Perfume Genius - No Shape St. Vincent - MASSEDUCTION Father John Misty - Pure Comedy Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. Kesha - Rainbow
  16. TBH, There's a good chance that even if that fan was telling the truth, Lana has already changed her mind about it I honestly want Yosemite so bad though, I hope it finds a home on either the next record, or a leak, or whatever. Screw BAR/Architecture though, I want the different versions of Lust for Life, because it sounds iconic, and you really can tell that once the "Take off, take off" part comes in that this was made to be moderately successful. I don't have a problem with Lana or even her surrounding company wanting to be commercially successful, but like if you're going to do that, you have to actually market the music.
  17. Will I get my signed CD, Box Set, and Vinyl for Christmas? Unlikely
  18. Holy fuck. I accepted in 2014 that she would NEVER do a tour or any kind of venue in Missouri and I would never get to see her, but shes coming literally 30 minutes away from me. I am buying tickets NOW and fucking going. Presale ftw. (but give me my damn autographed CD )
  19. I'm excited for the video, and I hope its more than what this teaser is showing (like inb4 those are 100% of the good shots )
  20. Anyone got a notification of shipping for their autographed copy in the U.S? I'm getting nervous
