September 13th was the leaked date that came from the TTPD leaker but whether or not those plans come to fruition is another thing… I feel as though a random Milan date would be an uneventful reveal date as her previous announcements have taken place on a monumental tour stop (Nashville for Speak Now where she recorded the album/had her first apartment and for 1989 she revealed on the ninth day of the eight month on the last date of US Leg) 
 
She seems to be on a roll with TTPD sales but maybe she’s getting as much as she can from the record before rep promo starts… who knows!

The leak everyone based their memory and taste on is not at all representative of how the song might have changed from late 2019 to january of 2021. It leaked in august 2020 iirc and that was basically the same version as the radio rip debuted by Nina Las Vegas in august 2019, but just in a higher quality. We cannot assume that it was the final version of the song, especially given how many versions of the same song SOPHIE would have. It could have even been the version used for live sets and that’s it. That version could have even be scrapped entirely since it had leaked. I’m not surprised that the released version is so different from the leak or from the live version, I mean, hasn’t it always been like that with SOPHIE?
Like, the C*m Remix is vastly different from the version performed live, just like infatuation twilight zone or plunging asymptote, or even Immaterial and I could go on endlessly… I honestly do not think Benny would have taken so much creative liberty with the production, I believe that this is how SOPHIE wanted to present and release the song.

We don’t even know what SOPHIE intended Reason Why to sound like in its completed state. I would assume her brother / audio engineer would. You can always stream the demo too. But as far as things being right in the universe, no matter how it’s mixed, Reason Why couldn’t have been a better lead single, and we should be GRATEFUL we even get to hear it composed differently than the version we’ve been listening to for years now. i think we all know by now BPMs aren’t the same when songs are played live, so just listen to an edit or something. It’s really nothing to complain about or “be concerned” about.

she was working on the sorry if i hurt you/crash aka janet album late 2019/early 2020 with the idea to finish it and make an album whilst cooped up with ag and sophie at the end of 2020, but since covid prevented her from doing anything with the janet album she switched them around.
 
she said during crash era that she didn’t know what she wanted to do next and she was gonna take a break. everything from brat was written in 2022 onwards
