Maybe I'm biased and crazy, but this is one of the best songs ever written
-
I feel like that would be a very Lana thing to do. I'd honestly love it cause that would mean she's really inspired and passionate if something completely sucks her in like that, and we'd get something great. It would be a win win situation

I still want an album with this sound, like she said a million years ago about Lasso https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Songbook

Good point!! I agree -
no but lowkey, I'm feeling that might be kind of true idk, maybe she'll give us new producers, maybe her current collaborators just aren't inspiring her and helping her to achieve her actual vision for this excuse me while I put my delulu hat on lol

I kind of interpret that as looking at your younger self and going "wow I've grown so much this feels like a lifetime ago"

with a cover of son of a preacher man with an eerie production at the end yes

Lana covers Vogue Italia's November Issue
Cult Leader replied to fishtails's topic in New Interviews
I feel like the writing style was really good and they touched on interesting topics to fans! -
She is also trying with Lasso, the new album son of a period of stay between Mississippi and Arkansas, but that while we speak is still in the making, so much so that it could be released under a different title. “There was so much ‘American flair, too much of that aesthetic in this American. I stopped because I didn't recognize myself. I wish this record was a reflection of the person I am today. I could turn it into something more in the “southern gothic” style, as it should have been at the beginning, and less country.” -- from the Vogue interview. I used google translate so some things might be off https://www.vogue.it/article/lana-del-rey-intervista-foto-vogue-italia

I don't even really like this musical, I just love this song so much the slowed and reverbed version adds 1 million nostalgia points

I have a kindle, but I still have a big physical book collection. I also collect CDs! I managed to find an old cd player too, so that's fun. I just like the feeling that even if someone wipes it from the internet, I'd still have access to it lol. I want to get back to collecting DVDs too, I hate that we depend too much on streaming services and a lot of movies and shows are nowhere to be found on them.

when she releases a 10 minute ballad masterpiece about the night, the stars, and the trees on the shore that's all a metaphor about striving for peace amidst the chaos of life then what

Honestly, if she's unsure about it I'd rather she takes as much time as she needs to create art that she believes in. I'm glad she recognized she was in a slump with this album and chose to not release a half assed project. I hope the next album is something she can put her whole energy into, that it's something she's feeling 100%. I think she respects herself and the fans enough not to release whatever just cause. I just wish she had been more upfront lol, but I'm guessing she's still confused about the material she has? Idk, and she's always been mysterious with timelines ´. I was excited for a country album, but meh I'll live lol. Impatiently awaiting for the psychedelic surf rock johnny cash country slay her next one will be instead! LOL

well if Lana won't rework Dark City... lol I'm joking! I love this new single

Southern Gothic (also known as Gothic Americana, or Dark Country) is a genre of country music rooted in early jazz, gospel, Americana, gothic rock and post-punk. Its lyrics often focus on dark subject matter. - from the Wikipedia page Sorry it's too early in the morning lol, I can't think of any artists I liked bcs this is a new term, but even so it makes me crave an older folk/country sound. I'd say maybe Gambling Bar Room Blues by Jimmie Rodgers and House of the Rising Sun, the early recordings of it by Clarence Ashley and The Animals version (my fave) as well!
