Scary Mask has its highlights but... I don't think she'll ever top X for me. That song is wicked (in the best way possible) and the music video is just sooooooo well done. I do have higher expectations for album 3 though as far as production. Poppy.Computer was very low-budget and even with Am I A Girl at least half of the songs are kinda sloppy, almost like they just put unfinished demos as fillers lmao. Does anyone else notice how poor the vocal mastering is in Time Is Up??? She sounds off key in the verses and idgi like Diplo could have easily made that song soooo much better. It's weird. Honestly, I think with the right promo they could definitely pull it off. If nobody of relevance (ie. anyone in the top tiers of social media influence) blasts all the dirt and drama around Melanie and others included in the project, it'll probably just be another old scandal swept under the rug. With the aesthetic, the film, and (hopefully) a cohesive and well-crafted album, it could really become a huge hit. Not to mention the large fanbase she already has... K-12 might just put Mel back on the map. IMO the biggest mistake Atlantic could be making with this project is the whole no singles thing... without a lead single or at least some promo tracks to build hype... idk I really think they're missing out on essential promotion. The trailer teasers aren't enough. But who knows, I could be totally wrong. Regardless, if all goes right, I genuinely would not be surprised if this era garnered Billie Eilish level praise. They share a lot of the same fanbase as it is. This could be her Electra Heart ... that's probably a reach tho lmao. We shall see, ladies!

Omg this is the first time I've opened this thread in months and I'm shocked @ the dissatisfaction. Sure, it's not her best but I think it's a nice record. I feel like this is her Honeymoon/Joanne where she's really just writing about what's around her and her daily life and what makes her happy etc. instead of coming up with like a grand scheme and creating another character and all that. It explains the name change too, dropping the "and the Diamonds" instantly set the tone that this was gonna be a more self-driven album. I mean, I guess FROOT kind of was too, but there was still a strategic theme placed for that album. Tbh I don't think it's as complicated as y'all are making it out to be... she's literally singing about the two biggest yet most simple things in life. Love- which we all experience on the bright side, and Fear- which we all experience on the dark side. She kind of brought the two together to show music can be dimensional and not all sad/not all happy. Idk if this post makes sense but yeah I'm content with the album lol srry for y'all who are super disappointed

Okay fucking love Nightmare. Damn she snapped so hard. So, for y'all who keep tabs on her, anyone got the tea on what's going on? When Without Me dropped she was very adamant that it was a one-off song and that she was taking a break before recording her next record. But I was thinking lately her label might talk her into jumping right back in with a new album since the unexpected success, like omg I can't believe how well it performed (and is still performing!!). So is Without Me still being considered a non-album single??? It'd make more sense for the label to throw it in with the album for promo (like how Charli's label added Boom Clap to Sucker since it was such a big single)... unless it's another concept record of course. BASICALLY I am just asking if Nightmare is the lead single for album 3 or if it's being considered the 2nd lmfaooo I'm sorry for being all over the place y'all I'm a real mess. edit: I didn't see this when I made my post but YES I was totally thinking the same thing. I think Dom has really inspired her + hopefully the upcoming album!!!
