this has been my dream since Venice and its dream pop/shoegaze-y guitars during the breakdown (what a tease ) I honestly think she would excel so much with shoegaze. Imagine a collab with Neil Halstead from Slowdive, Fleeting Joys, Alvvays, etc honestly any modern day shoegaze producer/band. I honestly think her best works would come out of that genre textbooks’s prechorus is everything, I just cringe at the BLM mention in the chorus every time it seems so performative

kinda rando but stoned really hits different at 3 in the morning. It was kinda on loop when I was on vacation and just staying up all night and watching the sunrise on the beach. It’s an insomnia song I do think this album could have befitted from an early summer release

Man With the Axe might be one of my favorite songs by her for some reason its mellowness reminds me of buzzcut season (my fav song from her) for some reason. i love how it picks up in the end

idk why the bonus tracks are bonus? better than some of the stuff on the actual tracklist for sure

wait The Man With the Axe is literally top tier here wtf I love it?? a lot of the songs here remind me of 90s/2000s acoustic stuff. there's something about it that's really charming and listening to it while being 22 is something else. i wish i had a specific artist to compare it to, maybe like a (REALLY) mellow flaming lips song?

I do enjoy chorus effect on the guitar on songs like Secrets from a Girl and The Path. Most of these songs sound nothing like Lana though lool other than Stoned (which still doesn't really sound like Lana to me, just has the same chord progression)
