When will this start?

i live for bridges!!
Even though the chorus of a song is probably the most important thing about it, i always appreciate a great bridge! i think it just makes the song a billion times better! Lana always does her bridges justice too, like you pointed out!

Out of all the Lana songs, the Blue Jeans bridge is my most anticipated part, "We went out every night, and baby that's alright, I told you that no matter what you do I'd be by your side, Cos' I'm a ride or die, whether you fail or fly, well shit at least you tried. When you walked out the door, a piece of me died, told you I wanted more, that's not what I had in mind, just want it like before, we were dancing all night, then they took you away, stole you out of my life, you just need to remember." It get's me everytime.
 
Also the bridge of 'This Is What Makes Us Girls' is just stunning too. "They were the only friends I ever had, we got into trouble and when stuff got bad, I got sent away I was waving on the train platform, crying cos I know I'm never coming back."
I must have a thing for bridges because the Backfire bridge is another one of my favorites.
 
I also love the piano in 'Every Man Gets His Wish', it's definitely on of my favorite elements to the song.
 
Bridge of National Anthem, "It's a love story for the new age, for the six page, we're on a quick sick rampage. Wining & dining, drinking & driving, excessive buying, overdose and dying."
 
The opening like to Born To Die, "Feet don't fail me now, take me to the finish line. oh my heart it breaks, every step that I take, but I'm hoping at the gates they'll tell me that you're mine." I also love the orchestra in that song too and the end.
 
So many good musical moments!

I think this is the most anticipated part of all the lyrics in all her songs for me

1: When did you first discover Lana Del Rey

In December of 2011 whilst watching the Born To Die video, I will never forget that moment when I first laid eyes on her.
2: What was the first song that made you fall in love with her music

Born To Die was the first, and I had it on repeat for a while. But then i heard Without You, and that was it.
3: Favorite Lana hairstyle

Ash brown / auburn beehive 50's style. But, I do ador the big, glamourpuss dark hair she has in the Ride video.
4: Favorite live performance

The 'Without You' performance in California, oh God.
5: Favorite lyric

That's so hard. I guess it has to be, ugh there's too many. "Everything I want I have, money, notoriety & rivieras" Always sticks out in my mind though.
6: Would you make out with Lana if you had the chance to?

No, I think that would be awkward. But, I'd hold her tight, and never let her go
7: Favorite facial feature

Her eyes, there so beautiful. They're full of so much sadness, yet so much joy at the same time.
8: What's one thing you don't like about Lana?

That she smokes, quit baby you don't need those fags.
9: Have you ever met Lana?

No, but I will before I die. When I see her in concert though, I'm going to scream "I love you Lana" so fucking loud and jump up and down that she will have to take notice of me :)
10: Who's you favorite artist after Lana?

Amy Macdonald, she has a different writing style to Lana, but it is equally as beautiful.
11: Would you say you're obsessed or just a really big fan?

Borderline obsessed. I just have so much love and respect for her.
12: What if Lana was secretly an evil zombie would you still love her?

Of course I would still love her, I will never stop. But, that doesn't mean that I can't stop liking her. And, if it came to it, yes I would kill her if she was an evil zombie.

For this week's MotW, I had the idea to only make the nominate those that would agree to answer the questions via video, instead of typing them out. Essentially, set your webcam, look at the list of questions I'll provide you with, and ramble. It's not that hard.
 
I'm not really sure that there'll be anyone brave enough to do it, but I figured that it'd be worth a shot. If you're interested please comment below or PM me. Because of the smaller pool of voluntary video applicants, I will also be accepting anyone that has been previously nominated before.
 
If I find there are not enough applicants, applicants are not MotW-worthy (have not been here long enough, are spammers, etc), or no applicants at all... I will scrap this idea and I'll do it up the traditional way.

this is an amazing challenge!
i love perfume and there should definitely be a lana del rey fragrance some day, much more so than many celebrities, because lana has a concept, and both style and substance. how cool would it be if they could get a talented perfumer to create a perfume that could evoke her music and her multifaceted personality through scent? something unconventional that could olfactively convey the spirit of her art. i imagine an alluring, mysterious scent that hints at a dark side, beautiful, glamorous yet slightly unsettling. it could be an oriental floral and perhaps it would feature a smoky accord (alluding to cigarettes and the smoke of the cabarets and nightclubs). on LDR.FM i once said i envisioned there being a lana perfume and a lizzy perfume. lizzy's would have a fun, pop art or retro americana packaging, and the juice itself would be fruity, with coney island caramel undertones, featuring a blue hydrangea note to give it an avant-garde touch. it might be less refined than lana's, playfully rebellious though suggestive of a hidden depth. i would hope both could be made with quality ingredients, not drugstore, aimed at perfume connoisseurs (like me) but accesible to anyone wanting to change their fragrant aura into something complex and dangerously attractive

Challenge #5 - My Favorite Perfume
So far, you have all created a re-release for Born To Die, artwork for the album and lead single, a music video for Burning Desire & a whole world tour for Lana. Now, Lana has decided to take a little break from music & promotion by hooking up with Elizabeth Arden to create her debut fragrance. You guys, must help Lana create this perfume. You must include the following:
 
- The bottle (description and/or photo shopped visual design. The bottle is the attractive part of a perfume. It must be Lana. You must describe why you have designed the bottle the way you have.)
- The name (must be suitable to Lana. Why have you chosen this name?)
- Tagline (What's the tagline for the fragrance?)
- The notes & scentes (describe the scents of the perfume. Is it dark and seductive, or fruity and floral? What would Lana smell like and want her fans to smell like?)
- Sizes & Amounts (how many fluid ounces are in a bottle. Can people buy big or small sizes? Cheaper or deluxe versions?)
- Pricing (how much will the perfume cost?)
- Advertising Campaign (create a poster and/or television advertisement for the fragrance. You must justify your reasons well, as the way you market a perfume is very important.)
- Gender (is it for guys? girls? or both?)
- Additional attributes (anything cool you think would be a great addition to the collection)
- You can create more than one perfume if you'd like.
 
Remember, not only Lana fans will buy this fragrance. Buying albums is different to buying music, anyone can walk into a cosmetics store and pick up this bottle and like it, smell it and buy it for themselves or for a friend.
 
You all have one week to create the perfume & campaign. Two contestants will be eliminated at the end of this challenge so good luck.

Hey guys, so I made a thread about this before, but we didn't have much information on the Paradise Edition back then so I just wanted to re-create a thread to let you all know that I still WANT this to happen really bad. Okay so the first country that the Paradise Edition is released in will be is Australia on Friday November 9th. I want to have a LanaBoards listening party of the album when the it's released so that we can all listen to the awesomeness in unison and maybe Lana will hear it all at once with her angelic ears and will know of our existence!
 
We would start with Born To Die, Off To The Races right the way through to Bel Air & Burning Desire. Please state your country below and I will try and work out what time it will be for you. Some of you may need to stay up really late, but you know we need to sacrifice our lives for Lana so it will all be worth it. I'm thinking that we create a tinychat and chat for about half an hour to wait for everyone to get here, then we play the album! We can discuss it REALTIME!

I will be taking down the songs straight after the party, because I'm still expecting you all to buy it

So Hackney Weekend is one of my fave looks from her, and I found her autograph and put it on the shirt, there was a heart with 'xxx' below the signature but I removed it, I could make one with it if y'all want to see. I thought this shirt looked okay and I would want it.

Again, love the name for same reasons as The GoGo Dancers, as well as the setting. I like the image projection idea, very Summertime Sadness music video. Like how you have a variety of packages, one upgrading from the other, and they have creative names. You have chosen a variety of cities worldwide which is good so the majority of her fans will get to see her. The only thing I don't get is why she goes to and from Europe 3 times, and from america to Europe to north america. Wouldn't it just be easier to do her Asian leg of the tour, then European leg, then South American, then North American, then maybe finish in Los Angeles, anyways that's just my logical thinking lol. I absolutely adore the idea of splitting the tour into acts. The setlist, lighting choices & outfits all fit in together perfectly. Well done.
