And The cure's drummer drums on the album, so incredible. The interview made me so hyped for the album, she said she's focusing on lyrics instead of catchy hooks, it all just sounds so amazing

Didn't she say she wanted to be a band (precisely because the attention/spotlight would be divided and not just on her) but Interscope insisted she's a solo artist? She kind of has a band now though, she's collaborated with her current band for many years now (ok except for the new guitarist/backing singer that came out of nowhere and I still have no idea who he is). I think she kind of has the best of both worlds, a solo artist with a rather permanent live band.

I'm just saying that she doesn't seem to be into big budget videos at the moment and that I personally don't care but am getting annoyed at how fucking bitchy and overly dramatic everyone is when she does something they don't like. Expressing opinions is excellent and all, but opinions are not facts, and lots of people are acting like they are. Oh my god a mellow video, her career is overrrr! I think people just expect her to do things she's clearly moving away from.

The audio is always more important than the video for me, and I love Ultraviolence, so she could be twirling in a field for four minutes (which is what most of the Bel Air segment of Tropico is, yet people adore that, go figure) and I wouldn't mind at all. I think some people really want Lana to be a typical glossy pop star with this massive production behind her, some people even wanted her to have costumes for her tour and change often and don't understand how she can just stand there and sing and still be entertaining. I just don't understand why so many of you want her to be what so many other people already are.

I thought she kinda half assed it to be honest. There was no passion, no fire. Not the worst she's done, but she can do so much better. I also miss the string section. When I saw her in Vienna it was insane, for instance: Born to die: One of my favourite Born to die performances. These bits in particular: 0:52 - 1:02, 2:08 - 2:12, 2:16 - 2:20, 2:41 - 2:50 Millon dollar man: The whole second part is beautiful.

Frankly, I think the quality of everything in the box set is blah. What the hell is it with the CD case, it's basically paper? Is that how CDs are sold now? I've bought the not-jewel-case CDs before and the paper was at least thick, more like cardboard, this is just flimsy as hell. The only high quality item is the box itself
