I don't get it either. She never confirmed anything. People just get these ideas in their heads and build up insane expectations, then they're mad at Lana and get all dramatic and pissy how they're not waiting anymore (sure sure ), acting as if she owes them something. She will do it her way, shrouded in mystery and all, and calling her a bitch and being whiny won't change that by a single iota. The May 1st thing wasn't even supposed to be a set-in-stone kind of date so it'd be nice if everyone calmed down a bit.

I know I've said it before and I'm going to say it again.
I don't know why you guys are constantly expecting a single release every single Tuesday. I don't believe there is a set day for a single to release, and if it is Tuesday, then Lana has only followed that twice. Out of all the singles she's released, two were released on a Tuesday.
I'm sorry it just kind of irritates me it's a simple concept

Ultraviolence it's gonna be less BtD and more AKA, that's what I hope for.

I know I'm one of the biggest promulgators of the "Lana is not reliable about dates" notion, but this fanbase is getting really ridiculous about this regarding Ultraviolence. Lana has never given an official date for its release or the release of a single and has no obligation to her fans to do so. She only mentioned a date once (May 1), accidentally to a fan when she didn't realize she was being recorded. I don't think it's fair to hold her to that, but even if we were going to, it's still not even April. It may drop before her tour starts in April, but even if it doesn't I don't think anyone should expect it to. Again, many dates are before May 1 and I don't think we should even hold her to that. I don't think we should even be terribly disappointed if it doesn't come out before the end of her North American tour. (Although I do think it would be fair to criticize if she doesn't at least preview songs from the album during her tour since she indicated the Tropico showings marked the end of the BTD era.)
What's even crazier yet is a lot of people have allowed their expectations to get built up by false rumors that clearly had no reliable basis in the first place. All we have is an album title, an off the cuff remark about a release date, some producers' names, a few descriptive words, and tour dates. Everything else is people imposing their own expectations. I know we all hate the word "soon", but this thing is probably going come out relatively soon, it hasn't been that terribly long since her last record came out, and it's not like we haven't had plenty of leaks to tide us over (and don't forget OUAD!). She's one of the most prolific artists out there right now, so I don't see what all the fuss or impatience is about.

tl;dr: Y'all need to quit with the thirsty entitlement.

I don't see why this wouldn't be reliable. It's an interview so it came out of his own mouth.

I honestly can't comprehend the reactions people are having to there not being a single or new info yet. March isn't finished (though it almost is), Aprils around the corner, and even May isn't that far away. If it gets pushed back to winter, then we have a bit of a reason to complain. But to trust all of these "exclusive" stories is getting tiring. I'm #thirsty too, but it's coming up so soon regardless so why constantly be disappointed when nothing happens, especially since there haven't been any official announcements.

ENOUGH WITH THE DAMN TRACKLISTS- WHETHER THEYRE REAL OR NOT ! JUST LET LANA RELEASE THEM HERSELF. JUST FUCKING WAIT NO NEED TO MAKE UP TITLES BASED OFF HER "Hollywood gangster hipster hipster style" JUST FUCKING WAIT PLEASE AND STOP POSTING FAKE NEWS. If it's not from lana herself or someone more reliable. Then why fucking bother ?

I can't help but disagree. She has a really interesting timbre in her upper register and lower register. It's the mix of both that's so alluring to me.

Edit: Barrie just posted his cover of Nirvana's cover of "In the Pines" which contains the line: "My girl, my girl, don't lie to me, tell me where did you sleep last night?" Birthday tribute to Kurt Cobain or coded message?

So Wikipedians won't allow Lana's real birth year to be corrected even though there's sources, but they'll allow these titles to be listed as Ultraviolence tracks without any sourcing? Someone please correct this. I can't be bothered. Also, that whole "Intended album" column needs to die a fiery painful death. There's virtually zero evidence to say almost any of those tracks were "intended" for any of her major label albums. People stating this as fact is really one of my pet peeves with this fanbase.

The Baha Men won 10 years ago for Who Let The Dogs Out too, Lorde gets to share that honor with them.

People have asked me if I have it as well, I took some internet tests that would confirm it, though the internet is not a doctor. I saw that video and there was a big resemblance in her mannerisms and mine. I wouldn't want to diagnose her with anything as I'm no doctor either, just an idea. Every now and then she says things that really resonate with me, or are quite different from other people's opinions.

I agree with the poster who said she really wants to be loved and adored, that she's very used to being both so when people attacked her like they did it was too much for her to take. It's a little naive to assume everyone in the world would automatically love everything you do, I'm starting to think she was very sheltered as a child. She even talked about not having TV, perhaps her parents tried to keep her from the "big bad world" and protect her, though that backfired, as it usually tends to do. I do understand that she'd still be upset about the things people wrote about her because of how incredibly vicious it was, though I don't believe she's not touring the US because she's holding some sort of grudge. I don't remember any recent singer getting that kind of treatment, the "controversy" regerding her was so blown out of proportion and often completely untrue.

The American media treats her like shit, so this is not terribly surprising, I don't get how some people can say she's overreacting and being butthurt regarding the US. It'll still probably make her feel sad so I wish the fuckface who wrote it plays in traffic.

So many of them have a horrid shallow popish sound to them that I usually wouldn't touch with a barge pole, and yet somehow because Lana sings them I listed to them

I only got to see it about an hour ago because the Vevo version is fucking blocked in my area and I didn't want to watch a shitty quality version so I just waited. Vevo can go die in a million fires, I hate it so much.

The film/video is good. I thought there would be more spoken dialogue but the storyline is much more cohesive than what I expected from the comments on here. The Bel Air segment is just a bunch of twirling on a field so that wasn't terribly impressive, though I love the way she looks and smiles when she says "bad baby." I think my favourite part is Body electric, though the thought of Adam and Eve grinding made me laugh. I like how all the iconic people are put together and they all talk over one another. And the colours in the convenience store segment are great, it's so atmospheric. It's way less cringeworthy than I assumed, I'm pleasantly surprised.

If it aint 1080p, I ain't even gonna bother....

And I think many of yous put the film too high on a pedestal. Because of the long length it took to make and put together, and it being a short film, many had high expectations and early visions of what it many be like, but we're disappointing cause it wasn't anything like they expected.

I love it. I think it's gorgeous. And who the fuck else is putting together a short film from multiple songs from one album? No one else. Who would have thought this new girl from Lake Placid with 1.5 studio albums under her belt would do such a thing? She is so effortlessly cool. So much talent. So much creativity. So much brain.
    Can't wait for Ultraviolence.
Hope she keeps the chola look.
    You go girl.
