Speaking from a guys perspective: I think that women (in general and of most cases) that put on too much makeup just to look pretty really just makes them look more unattractive tbh 
 
Lana in particular has this natural beauty that I find more compelling when she doesn't try, it just comes naturally for her 

things like this annoy me, there's so much pressure on women to look good all the time, it's fucking wrong. 

lana wasn't born to impress people or to have men jack off over her. she's a human being, not an object. she shouldn't have to look any particular way. 

he is such a nice guy. he was saying 'be careful of her' when she was getting hoarded. it felt like left 4 dead and lana was the only human    i felt so sorry for her.

Reminds me of an earlier quote in an interview about how she'd wear jeans and a white tee shirt to perform at really fancy dinners for business people, I think she enjoys being off putting. And as much as Johnny Blue eyes styles her for videos, I don't know how much he really does for her on the day to day- he's definitely more on the eccentric side so I think Lana decides for herself what to wear unless something is sent to her (Like the Mulberry dress and bag).

It's funny (read: depressing), if you read through her Lana Del Rey twitter (which is quite a chore) chronologically, you can see just how quickly (almost, literally, over night) her life got so complicated and invaded--stuff leaking, rumors starting, harsh criticism from everywhere, everyone wanting a piece of her, even impostors. I can't seem to ever get over how insane fame is or comprehend how anyone can ever desire it. It seems to be, at least in part, some sort of mental disorder. It's like dying and becoming fodder for vultures to feast on 

I really don't like it when Lana fans call Lana flawless, their queen, a goddess etc.....it just irks me.
