"You can't be a muse and be happy, too.

You can't blacken the pages with Russian poetry and be happy." - Blue Banisters

Quote

I asked Asmodeus (the demon of lust) to make Miley Cyrus suffer. I am not happy with these new developments. After Miley rips off Lana's aesthetic, she bullies Lana into changing her release date. It is infuriating.

is there a reason blue jeans and video games have remastered versions because they sound the same

I can tell the remastered versions are better quality, but the difference isn’t that noticeable. It’s more polished.

it's really interesting listen to the demos of this album, you can clearly hear Lana experimented with different sounds for these songs. A lot of them have the same vocals as the final versions

I’ve been dying to somewhat put in order my fave Lana songs :’)))  It’s tough because I’ve loved each song here very much, just at different points in time. The first half I numbered though, I’ll never get tired of. This album was pure narcotic to me.  :crai:

Funny how "bloated" and "overproduced" Born To Die manages to sound timeless yet still fresh at the same time, whereas other albums have aged like milk and it's only been 2 years :awkney2:

I'm kinda focused on being a baddie right now. I can't really work.

can we finally acknowledge the autobiographical and lyrical masterpiece that is This Is What Makes Us Girls

Yes omg, this was the song that I'd show all my friends cause it was so pretty and tragic and I'd share it on Tumblr all the time, awww

It's especially interesting with Lolita, as that is the one that goes the furthest back (as far as I know?) It changed like 4 times. 2 demos were super fun and playful and girly, then another demo sounded more serious and exotic, then the BTD version was just like, EPIC

BTD re-entered the Billboard 200, it just needs to chart for 2 more weeks to become the 2nd longest charting female album of all time.

How many weeks does the 1st album have? Just curious how far behind Lana is with BTD. :flutter:

Tho I actually don't dislike any of these songs. I only skip Carmen and sometimes Video Games because Im tired of it, but it's still an amazing song.

Just came in here to say that Radio is THAT bitch

If by not 'up to par' you mean distilling the worst elements that only kind of work in songs, sure. I could put a dictionary audiobook on shuffle and put it to an instrumental of old money and some of y'all would still be saying it's 50/50 lmfao.
