Hi everyone! I've been looking for an old music video that was available on YouTube back in 2015. It was a music video of the song "Methamphetamines". The scenes were rapidly changing, I remember there were a lot of short clips where people snorted white powder, funny scenes about drug prevention, a scene of Kurt Cobain and a few scenes from the UK series called "Skins" with Kaya Scodelario. I think there was also a scene in which Kirsten Dunst was sadly smoking a cigarette. I've been looking for this music video for years. Is it available anywhere?

Black beauty leaking led to her changing the record, so yes probably UV would’ve had 3/4 different tracks if it hadn’t leaked.

I think black beauty not leaking wouldn't have much effect on her overall career but it would definitely have changed the culture around her unreleased music

1. Probably not because I think the record would still be overhauled by Dan at some point so it would have changed again 

 

2. I think Jim is just a name she uses for her exs but I think she could have dated a Jim/Jimmy at some point. Idk why but I think she got it from Jim Morrison or Jim Jones

 

3. I think she was really close to marrying Barry when she had to break it off and around that time Jaime King had her first child. I think she just dramatized the whole story 

 

4. I think Bill is Barry and idk what era that song is from, but it wouldn’t shock me if around the Tropico/Ultraviolence era Lana referred to Barry as her husband

I could only answer 1-3

 

1) In my opinion, yes everything would have been different in the Ultraviolence album and that whole Ultraviolence era, because she would have placed it in the album if no one had leaked the song early. And if that happens, then one of the Ultraviolence outtakes, ones that we know of and have, ones that we don't know of and don't have or ones that got revealed and we just don't know much about them, would have taken Black Beauty's spot on the Deluxe album. Or it can be either the bonus tracks "Flipside" and "Is This Happines".

 

2) In my opinion, I think its a real person that she probably was attached to for a long time....because you can't look at someone name "Peter" and say the name Jimmy in your song. Unless Jimmy is Peter's nick name or middle name then that changes, but everyone has different names. It would be kinda off if she had to call every past guy she dated Jimmy tbh. 

 

3) Based on the song itself. Fine China is about Lana preparing for the day of her wedding with (assuming it's Barrie James O Neill cuz that's who she was dating at the time), in the song it sounds as if she used to live with him, she had her collections, her fine china, her fresh linen in the place/house they stayed at together. It's either her and her man (assuming Barrie) had a fight and decided to break off the wedding or they had a mutual break up. I think one of the things that she talked about in the song which is "I guess they really got the best of us, didn't they? They said that love was enough, but it wasn't" alludes to materialistic objects and money coming in the way of their relationship hence the fine china, fresh linen etc etc. And well she was devastated about the entire situation that she was asking herself in the song why do I have to experience horrible situations like this in life.

 

But I have three questions for you though,

 

1. What's the relationship story between her and Francesco Carrozini?

 

2. What is the story and meaning behind the song Dead To Me?

 

3. The unleaked song she mentioned marrying Bill which era is that from? is it an Ultraviolence outtake?

i dont think everything would be different, but ultraviolence would be completely different i think

i think the song leaking really changed the direction of the album, would maybe lead to the conclusion of releasing other songs on uv such as angels forever . when it leaked she said that it was for her second album which would be more spiritual, so i think the album would be more sonically similar to the old money demo, guns and roses, songs like that
