coneyislandbaby1949 404 Posted September 20 Just now, Lasso said: ok that was stupid I feel like every famous singer, specially women (who get way more scrutiny than men), are entitled to an era of contemplating how fame affects them and even complaining about it, but if you do it and then go to a bunch of events and award shows, calls paparazzi on you and is online 24/7, it feels hypocritical so so so hypocritical/ she cancelled europeon shows with fans who have loved her for a long time just so she could go to the vmas... she obviously wants the fame. her little stfu viral moment at the vmas even though he wasnt even talking to her. actually makes me mad. she just wants to complain. she is not stopping like she CONSTANTLY threatents to do 2 Quote the voice of nirvana says come as you are~ and i will night time is almost ours
Embach 45,058 Posted September 20 When I jumped to this thread and read those latest two posts, I quickly knew whom you were talking about that I think that this speaks volumes to non-fan people about her I do think that Chappell is a great artist and it's really great when a queer artist has huge success in the music industry but after those tone deaf comments she made, I think that she's just in her "young and dumb" moment where she thinks that she can speak boldy about whatever she wants to (you know like how Miley Cyrus and Lorde in their breakthrough years, they just said and did anything they wanted to say without any further thinking). It doesn't mean that we should ignore her statements but we should wait when the hype is over and give them less pressure.
Speed Driving Coconuts 675 Posted September 23 I don't think Chappell is gonna last long in this industry. She might make an album or two tops before she either removes herself or her fans eat her alive once they turn on her (which they will, I absolutely see that). I just don't think she's the type of person/artist who can maneuver through this level of fame and attention. If we're comparing the two breakout artists of the moment, I think Sabrina might fare better, but then again she's a Disney girl so she was trained for this from the very beginning.

bluechemtrails 27,316 Posted November 11 Beyoncé is a very talented singer. I don't like all her work (e.g. Renaissance), but her self-titled album for example was chef's kiss.
Embach 45,058 Posted November 11 I think it's this OCD-like thing but it's just so satisfying to see when an artist's discography are all albums with no million EPs or mixtapes and no stand-alone singles and collabs It's weird I know but I just had to say this because I still haven't found an artist with a discography like that lol

Obsidian 2 Posted November 16 Ok, this one is gonna sound silly but I always thought it was unnecessary and makes the artist look less glamorous when they say "thank you" to the crowd every time the crowd cheers and claps after a song. And yes I realize they all do it. I mean, as an artist, you just played & sang your heart out for the crowd. You gave them the song. Why would you thank them? For cheering? They should be thanking you.
