What do you guys think about Katy's latest release?

I liked this song when she debuted the 30-second snippet, and I was excited to hear the full thing. Now that i've heard the full thing, I have to say I could have went without Juicy J. Instead, Katy hitting some high notes and a few cool runs in a different octave would have been a better fit for that part of the song.

But....

I guess Juicy J's part could have been WAY WORSE, so i'll live.

I've been waiting for Katy to go in a darker direction with her music, and I appreciate the direction she went on this song.

I actually wasn't a "HUGE" fan of Roar either, but I understand why other people like it.

 

She is releasing "Walking on Air" on September 30th, so we'll see what that brings.

I like the song a lot let's see what the lyrics will be transformed into. I like Roar as well. It's not the song of the year or a masterpiece but certainly is bubble gum pop at it's best. I like KP because it's fun and unpretentious music.

Probably doesn't deserve its own thread but hey, it doesn't bother me personally that much 

Anyway, I think the chorus lets down this whole 'dark' image she's trying to portray or whatever (and there's no way this song's dark anyway) and I didn't like Roar, I find her vocals a little too annoying when she tries to sound really dramatic but I kinda like the verses. I just kinda got over Katy Perry when I was like 12.
