she was apparently suffering immense pain after her son tragically died just 18 months ago…

I saw a documentary about her recently, she seemed to be such a strong woman who stuck with her beliefs and fought for women’s rights on Ireland… Sad to see her go so early.

This is so fucking upsetting. It's so sad that she never got the help she clearly needed.

Obviously she was most famous for Nothing Compares but she was such an all-around badass

Ripping up a picture of the pope on SNL in the 90s and sticking it to the Catholic church in general

Changing her name and shaving her head as fuck yous to the patriarchy also

I never got around to reading her book but I definitely will (maybe not for awhile because sad)

Back to Nothing Compares, though - the line at 3:20 has always got to me ("all the flowers ...) she just sings it with so much emotion and it's just so perfect

History proved her ahead of her time but sadly she never got the validation for it. A lot of people owe her an apology that she'll never get. RIP, she was such a real one!
