PLEASE READ: LanaBoards Site Updates - expect periods of downtime 4/7-4/8

Hello, everyone! I'm excited to announce to you all that I will be performing some updates for LanaBoards tomorrow, April 8th.

These updates will hopefully fix some of the bugs we have been experiencing lately, as well as add some fun new features to our website. I've decided to perform these updates now as we are nearing towards some exciting times on the forums with the imminent release of Henry, Come On and Lana's Stagecoach performance, where we expect high site traffic.

In preparation for these updates, I will first need to upgrade our server as these updates require a higher level PHP than our current server supports. So, I will be pulling the site offline tonight beginning at 10pm ET to migrate to the upgraded server. This will take a few hours, and then we will be back online for a while before I begin the updates. (that being said, if anyone has been considering donating to the site, now would be a great time as server upgrades are never cheap skfgjfsk. If you're interested, please reach out to @admin for more details!)

Shall this migration process run smoothly, I will proceed with performing the updates to our site tomorrow, April 8th, during the later afternoon/evening ET. I will give you all at least an hour notice before I begin as I will have to pull the site offline once more for a few hours to perform them.

Once everything is complete and the site is back online, I will be making another thread to inform you all of all of the new changes! Nothing too major, just some fun new features and overall tune-ups to benefit our community.

All will be revealed once the whole process complete! But there definitely is one very special feature that I'm extra jazzed about that will definitely be a game-changer in terms of always staying up to date on the latest and greatest! x

LOL, if this happens before I begin the updates, I'll postpone them so everyone can be online. However, my intention with performing these updates so soon is so that I can hopefully have everything finalised and functioning before any imminent news that may arise! x

However, you all know what has happened over the years when I've taken naps... when the site itself is taking a nap, who knows what could be possible on the news front... x

That's what I'm hoping for! I expect that it should as that's a big intention behind why I'm performing these updates, but if for some reason they still don't work properly afterwards, I should be able to at least further identify the source of the issue during the update process and continue to work on it. But, what I'm hoping for and expecting is that with these updates will result in the resolution of all bugs we've been experiencing x

as a lanaboards insider i can exclusively reveal that one of the new features is 'lipster clock', which is our version of community notes 

 

this is a joke btw but i kinda want this now @Elle is it too late
