oh i know. but taylor announced the rerecordings nearly six years ago. i didn't imagine it would take this long

I love the sentiment behind the re-recordings but actually listening to them instead of the OG's? Yeah, no. Sometimes she gets it right like with the updated production of Girl At Home but ultimately the new versions almost always lose the emotional charge the originals had. You can tell she is singing about things which happened a long time ago and she has moved on from the events that inspired them.

THAT song's new mix is so bad that's what made me decide the originals were better. Someone said "girl at home more like girl at club." What were they thinking.
