The song most likely already has been produced, at least in some form, and she basically guided us into "suggesting" whatever sound/imagery she had already chosen to make us feel like it was us who made the decisions that were already made six months ago. 

 

 

Makes sense, I mean there are really only a few directions that song should go in and as soon as someone mentioned keeping it as a piano ballad she was like "mmmmm I'm thinking something else" meaning she's probably already done something else with it.

 

On an unrelated note, I'm not sure I like this concept at all. Not only is it a mess, but when the final album comes we will have heard pretty much the entire album. Not in the final form granted, but it kind of takes away from the magic of hearing brand new music when you get eased into it by listening to rough cuts and voice memos.

Just read the last few pages and I don't get why some of you are so pressed about the situation? It seems like Allie cleared it up for me.

 

Fans have expressed how they want the song "Purge" to be finished. This shows that Allie may have a handful of versions of this track, or an idea similar to the reactions she has received from fans. Allie asking fans what the music video may look like could indicate what she could be filming or aid with finishing the audio as well. The album itself may have like 25 demos/mixes and she's just throwing the songs she is 100% sure won't make the cut to begin with and saving the strongest material for the end. Or she's putting up her favorite songs and want honest opinions on what can be improved. As some of you have said, the album may be already close to being done and Allie is giving her fans a sense of control through letting us voice our opinions.

 

Some part of me thinks that she's just buying time to add a few more demos in the coming weeks and she will drop the album itself with material that differs from what she's showing us now. Like OHDH, TMTD and Purge are up for consideration, but only one may make it.

 

Edit : Patchwork updating albums seems to be a newer thing (exhibited by Kanye updating TLOP every few days/weeks) and it'll be the new norm of album releases and could potentially be the way she's releasing CX2 and future collections.

The best part is...even if she drops your fave demo of whatever and it doesn't make the album, you're still getting the song. At first the delays worried me but it's probably just her label clearing each song for release and/or Allie's indecision of what track is the best to release. I can honestly wait a few weeks/months for the album as long as we are getting the content.
