After the Afterparty is a GOOD song some of y’all loved to trash it when it came out because it wasn’t a follow up to VV or More PC music as you wanted but Miss Charli still knows how to make pop perfection and that was IT. Should’ve taken off :/

For me, VV didn't feel genuine on first listen, so I felt very conflicted, but it grew on me more and more as time went on. And then she dropped ATAP and it felt totally neutered and uninspired. So I could never really get into it because I saw it as a sell-out song. It was never bad, but I just looked so lifeless compared to VV. I think it would've taken off if pop was in a better position. I feel like pop had a big comeback on the charts when the tropical/dance wave came in 2017, so it's just unfortunate that the cards weren't set up for ATAP to smash.
