This is not a hate post against you or your opinion at all, and I am very satisfied with HM as an album, but I also don't get people who throw crap at BTD all the time and say that just because it's her first official album somehow it's also her worst.

 

I don't get why would someone NOT want her to write about honoring long lost love and a glamorous lifestyle, when that world is so captivating, it just draws you in.

I don't get why would someone NOT want more videos on the level of these:

I don't get why would someone not want her to do photoshoots this amazing again, who, why would you not want her to look this good again?

 

Born To Die was not only an album, it was an experience. What she does now does not compare. But I also understand that it is not supposed to, as making BTD was her main goal in life.

Now, HM is a wonderful album and I sincerely love all songs. But I can't help but feel that BTD is on a whole other level.

I think you need to get older and see how priorities change in life. Being in your teens and early twenties, so many things are different than in the years to come. Perceptions change, goals change, and how people look at you changes. You learn that beauty is not for forever. 

 

You also realise that all you wanted from love, the men you craved for are not good for you. 

I was at that point in my life after I hit my late 20's.

Also something like "death" that didn't exist in your daily vocabulary becomes very real when you see a parent or an old friend die. And when you see yourself getting older.

 

And I think that may be the breaking point between many Lana fans who are extremly young and herself. She is 30. She sees life different than somebody half her age. From now on, that won't change.

YES. Finally someone gets it! Born To Die was amazing and people have to stop acting like it was shit. Its an amazing album. Its on a whole other level. Yes it had beats and yes it was pop. I don't know why people act like something is wrong with liking this album. its my favorite and always will be

Most of us became fans during and because of BTD. I mean, without it we won't be here. Sometimes on the other hand I think Lana stans are way too attached to this album. And quite frankly, while this album is still very enjoyable (maybe not from start from finish), it was always more style than substance.

The only reason some fans are too attached is simply because Born To Die is almost perfect and very enjoyable. Every album Lana releases will always be compared to BTD, its that good. 

Actually, I think Ultraviolence is better than BTD.

 

See, I think that is the point why she is losing fans. Some of you guys are not at her point in her life. She is gettin older and she has matured. She is not craving for style only anymore or an emotion, a production that screams "relatable" to a teen or an early twen. 

 

You also get the difference when you read or listen to her interviews now.

Because without the things you posted (the mv's, imagery, her persona, her performances), they wouldnt love it as much as they do. It's SOLELY because of that, they love what BTD brought to their lives, i love it too, but i can move on and enjoy what she's doing and how shes maturing.

I don't understand all the hate for the title track. Yes, it's slow as hell, but it really is a beautiful, haunting song. 

 

I like to imagine Lana obsessing over someone who has no idea she exists. She's fantasizing about this honeymoon with a complete stranger.

Lana's sound changes every album, so I think it's time we give up our dreams that she'll make BTD-type stuff again. I keep praying for Lana to make another Off To The Races, but I think it's time to let it go.   I think what people love most about BTD is the fact that most of the songs were catchy. You didn't have to listen to them several times to let them grow on you, like a lot of people had to for UV and now Honeymoon. I want Lana to make catchy songs too (and Honeymoon has a few of them actually) but I've accepted that she's into slower music now.
