  1. @@Skid Row Cherry Pie, @, @ and @, I'll update the results with your lists soon. Btw, I removed White Pontiac Heaven from the list, don't know how it got there
  2. Results after 15 votes: Conclusions so far: We are crazy about the songs that were/are meant for the next album. Catch and Release seems to be a case of love or hate (well, indifference at least). "Everybody" likes Daytona Meth, but no one seems to really love it..? Only a few seems to have gotten into Let My Hair Down/Dance Man, one of the most recent leaks, but those who have appears to have fallen hard for it. I am the only one who appreciates the magnificence of the Big Bad Wolf Instrumental Question: Will Crooked Cop ever go beyond 0 points?
  3. @ Sry to make it harder for you, but if you want your list added to the results you'll have to choose which one you like best of BCD and TLotS. I guess i forgot to mention that, but no tied spots are allowed.
  4. @@Elle I think it will be a bit too complicated if we start to devide points. But if you want HSC to be on your list, you can still change it
  5. Great, I was hoping you'd do that again! As you said, this is for 2013 only so I'm not trying to steal your job here I counted this as 12 pts for Playground and 0 for HSC, is that ok? Serial Killer isn't a 2013 leak, so if you want your list to be added to the results you'll need to replace that one
  6. Here's mine: 1. Starry Eyed 2. Tired of Singing the Blues 3. Black Beauty 4. Your Band is All the Rage 5. TV In Black & White 6. Chelsea Hotel No. 2 7. Big Bad Wolf (Instrumental) 8. Hawaiian Tropic 9. Angels Forever, Forever Angels 10. Summer Wine
  7. I know, this should probably be done at the end of the year, but I was bored and there's no harm in starting early. My first thought was to make a poll for this, but since a poll can only contain 20 choices for each question and there've been about 40 leaks/releases this year so far, I figured it would be a bad idea. Instead, I think we should make our own top 10 lists with a point system. For example: Nr. 1 - 20 pts Nr. 2 - 18 pts Nr. 3 - 16 pts ............ Nr. 10 - 2 pts When/if there are enough participants (>10) I'll start updating this post with the overall results. The songs to choose from are: I've excluded alternate versions/demos of songs on this list, so that there's only one version of each song to vote for (yes, I know that Big Bad Wolf(Instrumental)/Hot Hot Hot is a delicate case, but I'm the TS so I'VE GOT THE POWER and I say they're separate songs ). However, if you for example would want to vote for "Living Without You" instead of "TViB&W", or anyone of the 739574 alternate versions of Y&B, you may do so, but the points will go to the original/final version. Also, your list can't include more than one version of a song, so sorry all you Y&B lovers but you can't make a top 10 list with 10 different versions of it. If you (God forbid) isn't as fond of lists as I am and don't have the energy or motivation to make one but still want to discuss the songs, feel free to do so! But only top 10 lists will be counted in the final results. Update Results after 34 votes:
  8. I'm still confused over this: which version of Hundred Dollar Bill do we have as "version 1", the shorter or the longer one?
  9. If she means taking a break from music for a while, I really don't mind at all. I want her to feel inspired and happy about writing music, and if that means waiting a couple of (or even a few) years for new material - fine. We'll be more slayed than ever when that day comes. And it's not like we're lacking songs to enjoy while we wait.. If she means quitting forever - If she's just teasing, it's REALLY working
  10. (Sorry to jump back into the discussion a little late, but here it goes anyway...) I must say, this has been a really interesting thread, with a lot of insightful and intelligent comments from both "sides". It's a shame it had to blow out of proportion a bit, because I don't think our opinions and feelings for Lana differ THAT much really. As someone said, we all like her enough to spend a lot of time on a forum dedicated to her, so it's not like anyone of us is here to hate on her or something like that. I want to start by elaborating my first comment a bit. It might have given the impression that I see Lana as some untouchable goddess, whose flaws only add to the perfection, but that's absolutely not the case. What I was trying to say is that I can accept her flaws, and even be fascinated by them rather than upset with them, since I consider her to be an essentially nice person in addition to being a great artist. And here's where I've been having a slight problem understanding the somewhat aggressive tone in some peoples comments. From my point of view, it has felt a bit overly-judgemental. I mean, haven't we all under nervous, stressful conditions acted weird and afterwards wondered what the hell we actually said? And considering the fact that none of us (?) has been subjected to such a stressful and overwhelming situation as Lana, isn't it fair to demand a little less from her than we do from ourselves in our safe, private environments? Especially since she seems like a very sensitive, emotional and socially nervous person. I want to be clear on this - I 100% agree that she does come off as a bit arrogant and pretentious in some of her answers in this interview, and it's totally ok and even justifiable to criticize her for that. However, considering everything I've written in this never-ending post and the fact that none of us have heard or seen in what manner she gave these answers, I think the most reasonable way to look at this interview is with less judging and more forgiving eyes.
  11. ^Agreed. And even if everything she's ever said in interviews is complete lies, it wouldn't bother me a bit. She's not obligated to tell us anything about herself.
  12. I feel like writing a lot about this, but it's really late and I'm extremely tired so I'll just keep it very short for now. I love that Lana is so human. She can sometimes be strange and awkward, and she cares far too much about what people think about her. But given that she (and I think we all can agree on this) in essence seems like a really kind, warm and loving human being, these "weaknesses" are very harmless and actually just make her more interesting . This, combined with the fact that she makes amazing music, is all I need to know to really like her as a person. Reading some random interview won't change that.
  13. We are a few swedes here on the forum, you're welcome to share the love with us! Also, if you want to hear her music on the radio, P3 is definitely your best shot.
  14. I think I'll go ahead and add Video Games here, considering the way people are bashing it in the hideous "Overrated"-thread
  15. That's it, now I'm leaving this thread forever.
  16. I can see that this thread is gonna bring me a lot of disappointment.. These songs > life. Well, my nr 1 choice is definitely Blue Jeans. I've really tried to develop some love for it, but I just can't.
  17. When I was really young, I remember going through a short phase when I wished so hard that I could fly that life seemed empty and pointless, since I was old enough to know that humans simply can't fly. This thread brings me a similar feeling
  18. In "Find My Own Way", the beginning goes like: "Snow is coming down like rain / I'm at it myself again". Well, what I keep hearing is "Snow is coming down like rain / I'm wetting myself again"
  19. Yayo - filthy baby doll dress for my "I do"

    Radio

I've never heard of that song!

    Radio

Wasn't too impressed by Radio at first, for me it was one of the weaker songs on Born to Die. That was until I heard the amazing demo! Since then I can really appreciate the album version too, but imo the demo version is the "real" Radio and one of my (many) Lana favorites.
  22. Yes. Despite my verdict on Young And Beautiful, I still like it more than Over the Love. Probably because Lana at her worst still touches me more than Florence at her best
  23. Alright, I'm putting on a bulletproof vest now... I sincerely hope that I'm relatively alone on this though. It would be great if Y&B became widely appreciated! And maybe I'm not a completely lost case after all, since I really disliked Cola for quite a long time and now it's one of my top 20 favorite Lana songs.
