  1. we don’t have the Dan Auerbach version of ITTJ unfortunately
  2. their interest really made stacks out of it for her
  3. I just checked the linear notes for Guns and Roses, and it looks like the only studio the final version was recorded at is Electric Lady, and the January 27th 2013 session was in Santa Monica ! so there must be a completely different version of Guns and Roses out there
  4. Pretty When You Cry was recorded right before Lana met Dan, during the Electric Lady session! It’s produced by Blake and Lee Foster. Lana talked about how Cruel World was written on the last day of that session at Electric Lady, so it’s possible that there’s a recording of that song from that session too although that part is just my own speculation. Presumably the only song Lana didn’t already have before she met Dan was Florida Kilos
  5. when there’s an actual Dan Auerbach version of FMWUTTT sitting on a hard drive somewhere unreleased and unbeknownst to us… i always thought FMWUTTT sounded quite different than the other songs Dan A did on that album, but then again so does his MPG version
  6. these are the credits for FMWUTTT on streaming. everything else for the album is correct so it’s kind of odd, they have to have come from somewhere so I’m assuming they accidentally came from the demo or something
  7. i have no idea, but there’s a really weird glitch on Spotify and Tidal that says Emile Haynie and Dan Heath produced FMWUTTT. that’s not printed on the official linear notes, but I’m wondering if possibly the demo credits were uploaded or something? considering Dan Heath wrote it with her. So I kinda think Dan Heath and Emile produced the demo
  8. sorry i accidentally left FMWUTTT empty 😭😭 demo is likely from mid-late 2013, final January-February 2014
  9. okay, so this is a comprehensive list of every song from the UV era that we know of (not including Dark City and Ave Maria because we don’t rlly know anything about them, also not including Queen of Hearts and Don’t Stop because I have a feeling they were for something else) and when they were recorded as specifically as we know. if i’m missing info or possibly forgot to add a few songs to this list, which is definitely likely, lmk and i will update Cruel World — demo possibly recorded at Electric Lady December 2013-January 2014, final version recorded January-February 2014 Ultraviolence — demo/most vox possibly recorded November 2013, final version re-worked by Dan Auerbach January-February 2014 with a few new vocal takes Shades of Cool — scratch demo and Rick Nowels version recorded November 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 Brooklyn Baby — there’s a scratch demo out there (which we have a snippet of), possibly from late 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 West Coast — demo/radio mix possibly recorded April 2013, final version recorded January-February 2014 Sad Girl — demo/vox possibly recorded November 2013, instrumental reworked by Dan Auerbach January-February 2014 Pretty When You Cry — recorded December 2013-January 2014 Money Power Glory — recorded October-December 2012, alternate version recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Fucked My Way Up to the Top — demo possibly recorded mid-late 2013, final version recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Old Money — recorded October-December 2012 The Other Woman — recorded January-February 2014 Black Beauty — demo recorded January 2013, Paul Epworth rework possibly from February 2014 Guns and Roses — recorded December 2013-January 2014 Florida Kilos — recorded January-February 2014 Is This Happiness? — recorded November 2013 Flipside — possibly recorded June 2013 Living Legend — recorded 2013, likely July 2013 Cherry Blossom — recorded early May 2013 Nectar of the Gods — recorded early May 2013 Fine China — demo recorded November 2013, re-recorded with Auerbach in January-February 2014 Yes to Heaven — demo recorded November 2013, re-recorded with Auerbach in January-February 2014 Let Me Love You Like a Woman (Demo) — ? If You Lie Down with Me (Demo) — ? Angels Forever, Forever Angels — recorded early 2013 I Talk to Jesus — demos recorded October-December 2012, re-recorded with Auerbach January-February 2014 Your Girl — recorded November 2013 Unidentified Flying Bill — possibly recorded June 2013 I Don’t Wanna Go (Lake Placid) — demo recorded Early-Mid 2012, re-recorded in 2013 Hollywood — recorded September-December 2012, alt version from 2013 Wild One (Mike) — recorded September-December 2012 Cult Leader — recorded early-mid 2013 Dragonslayer — recorded early-mid 2013 I Can Fly — demo recorded November 2013 *One understandable misconception that I saw about the final version of West Coast is that it was recorded at The Bridge because that is listed in the album’s linear notes, but only select instruments on the song were recorded at The Bridge. The final version vox were recorded at Easy Eye.
  10. do we know what months the Sad Girl leaked demo, Ultraviolence leaked demo, and Fuck My Way were recorded? are they from the November 2013 sessions?
  11. they haven’t approved my account yet i’m assuming that’s gonna take another few weeks but i’m pretty sure i chose my display name to be hearts aglow
  12. i’m really glad i was able to make an atrl account when registrations were open yesterday, i’ve been trying to for years and kept missing whenever they were open 😭😭
  13. okay i’m excited for possible BOZ lanaboards entrance but i’m scared everyone is gonna bombard him with questions when/if he comes on here and he’s gonna leave right away 😭😭 let’s just promise ahead of time to make sure we give him some space
  14. FINE CHINA AUERBACH VERSION IS COMING.
  15. it’s so funny how bob dylan is on here because it’s quite widely known and accepted that he is not a good singer, it’s always been his songwriting and storytelling. they should’ve just called the list best musicians of all time atp
  16. i wouldn’t consider it ripping off at all because Phoebe definitely put her own twist on it, but I think a lot about how clearly inspired she was by the Twin Peaks theme for Smoke Signals
  17. bless him BoZ if you’re reading this we love you
  18. I need an album trailer like this again so bad everyone remembers where they were when this dropped… I was in my 9th grade french class during a test when I got the notification, I RANNNN to the bathroom and failed the test because i ran out of time during the period since i was gone for so long freaking out 😭😭
  19. iirc correctly Riverside was recorded in 2012. The Good Life was recorded in July 2014, I think I remember there being a rumor that it was intended for the Big Eyes soundtrack originally
  20. jfc i forgot this woman shot the Tropico film in summer 2013 too 😭 girl was BOOKED and BUSY
  21. wait actually! i haven’t seen this mentioned before but I just found that those two songs had to have been recorded at Punto Rec Studios in Turin, Italy
  22. Lanapedia says Nectar of the Gods and Cherry Blossom were recorded May 5th, 2013, so those ones had to have been recorded in Europe considering she had a tour stop on May 4th in Monaco and May 6th in Rome
  23. i literally can’t believe how much music this woman was making in 2013 because she was on that extensive Paradise Tour at the same time. all of the music from 2010-2011 is kind of understandable, but how did she have the TIME and energy for everything she did pre-UV 😭
  24. it’s especially weird because if Florida Kilos was written for SB2 in January-February 2014, it had to have been scrapped for the movie only a month or so later. I just did some research and J*mes Fr*nco actually said this about SB The Second Coming in May 2014 when posters about it were being put up: This is not being done with Harmony Korine or my consent. The original was wholly Harmony’s creation and these producers are capitalizing on that innovative film to make money on a weak sequel. I want everyone to know that whoever is involved in the sequel is jumping on board a poison ship. It will be a terrible film, with a horrible reason d’être: to make money off someone else’s creativity. Can you imagine someone making the sequel to “Taxi Driver” without Scorsese and De Niro’s consents? Insanity! I’m speaking up for Harmony and his original vision and for any creative person who cares about preserving artistic integrity. So by that point, it didn’t seem like Harmony Korine even had any involvement the Spring Breakers sequel anyway. Either everything fell apart like a month after Florida Kilos was written, Florida Kilos was written a while before then, or it wasn’t for Spring Breakers at all and was for a different movie (which still was probably scrapped by then if Lana was able to put the song out only 4 months after writing it)
  25. oh also one other thing sorry 😭 I know Dan A has a writing credit on Florida Kilos, but I’m curious if that’s just because he added/changed a few lyrics? I saw some rumors that it was actually written in 2013 with Harmony Korine, and then once the Spring Breakers sequel was cancelled she decided to record it for UV. I feel like the timeline is kind of weird and messy for it to not have been written until early 2014. especially considering it was only released a few months later; I feel like it would’ve taken longer for it to be off the table unless it was scrapped for SB2 immediately after it was written and the film was just cancelled later
