After her live performance tonight, it's clear that the lyric is "we're ribbons in knots."

Wanted to note something interesting about the way Lana has been performing this song recently.. it seems she has uncovered a bit of a hidden meaning.
She has switched the line "Lies could buy eternity" to "Lies could buy a wedding ring"
    See here at 2:31 :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEJXJm3xrFs

She first alluded to this switch in Anaheim where she sang the original line, but looked down at her left hand. Some girls in the audience took notice. "Oh fuck!" "What does that mean??"
You can see that moment at 2:16 :

She also added additional lyrics during the bridge in that performance. (3:23)
    "Nothing gold can stay
    Thats what they tell me
    Like love or lemonade
    I don't believe them
Or sun on a summer's day
    But that's okay
'Cause it's all a game to me anyway"

Okay okay okay I've held this in for way too long but "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY" APPLIES TO A COURT OF LAW   N O T   THE COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION. THE PUBLIC CANNOT CONVICT SOMEONE OF RAPE. ONLY THE COURTS CAN. SCREAMING "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY" IS USELESS IN THIS CONTEXT. IT'S LIKE SCREAMING "FREE SPEECH" AT YOUR MOM WHEN SHE TELLS YOU THAT YOU CAN'T CURSE. THESE LEGAL STANDARDS DON'T APPLY TO EVERYTHING OR EVERYONE IN EVERY CONTEXT. IN ADDITION, "INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY" IS A TACTIC THAT OPPRESSORS USE TO OPPRESS AND SILENCE THEIR VICTIMS.

(Also guys, the incessant begging for proof and being met with shame and skepticism is why victims do not come forward. Keep that in mind.)

I've always thought the line "I've got nothing much to live for ever since I found my fame" and pretty much the whole song was about depression and a feeling of solitude and oppression in general

Today I've come to the conclusion it's more of an ode to everything she achieved and the fact that there's nothing more to discover in life - as if she achieved her dreams of becoming famous and she isn't inspired anymore bc of achieving everything she ever wanted so that there's no feeling of purpose in her life anymore

Lana prints an ugly emoji on a basic cap and a basic sweater and y'all go crazy ... you can do that yourself at ANY copy-shop. No wonder she never puts effort into her merch, y'all buy the biggest kind of shit just for the sake of it.

Yes I'm working my way there which is why thread has been dead. I do a lot of corporate design and photo editing in my job role but after contract is up next year I'm hoping to go to another country to work for a few months at a art and design place

This song paints a story like only few other songs do (EMGHW, BTTB). Sometimes, I really miss these kind of lyrics.
    One of her best.

    "de mortuis nil nisi bosnum."

Just wanted to add my two cents on the topic. It's very tragic how Peep died, and it's really disheartening to read some of the comments in this thread. Although Peep would often post videos or speak of his drug use, I definitely don't think it was meant to "glorify" drugs. He wasn't doing them just because he thought it was "cool." He was truly depressed and dependent on his pills. I see it as an obvious cry for help. Coming from someone who has lost friends to drug use, he showed all the same signs. He just wanted help, but didn't know how to ask for it. If you read some of his instagram captions that were posted just 2 days ago, they're also eerie cries for help.

"When I die You'll love me"

"I just wana be everybody's everything I want too much from people but then I don't want anything from them at the same time u feel me I don't let people help me but I need help but not when I have my pills but that's temporary one day maybe I won't die young and I'll be happy? What is happy I always have happiness for like 10 seconds and then it's gone. I'm getting so tired of this"

    "I feel emptyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"

Underlined some segments of the second quote that make it extra eerie. He knew he needed help. He didn't want to die young. Yet, he knew it was coming. So evident if you read his song lyrics, especially the opening line of 'The Way I See Things' - "I got a feeling that I'm not gonna be here for next year, so let's laugh a little before I'm gone."
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if this was ruled as a suicide. But, there's this rumour going around that a fan gave him laced pills that led to his overdose. The fan met him after the show, gave him the pills, and then was bragging to her Twitter group chats that they "really fucked him up" and he was "passed out" because of them. She left all the group chats & deactivated her twitter account after she learned he was dead. Nothing is confirmed though, of course. Either way, his death is super tragic. He knew he needed help, yet no one would help him. You can really see his decline just within the past few days on his instagram. The most chilling video has now been deleted from his instagram, most likely by request of someone on his team, where he stated, "I just took 6 Xanax and I was lit. I'm good. I'm not sick."

All this aside, my heart goes out to everyone affected by his death. I never really knew of him, I had only heard a few songs, but just a little over a week ago when I was in ATL to see Poppy, he was performing at the same venue in a larger room. After Poppy's show, my friend and I were chatting outside the venue for 2 hours. Just as we were hopping in an Uber to leave, Lil Peep came outside the venue to greet fans. As we were driving away, my friend and I shouted at him and he turned to us and smiled & waved. He seemed like a pretty cool guy. RIP.
