  1. I LOVE TASTE I don't understand why NSBILA gets so much hate, it's incredible! All the tracks are incredible so far except Focus
  2. Ahh good point... it just seems pointless to tease so heavily when the album is not coming out for another 2 months minimum
  3. I wonder if Bartender is the MGK collab and Lana added him on last minute
  4. tbh I think January is still too far considering all the teasing! If we weren't told we could expect it at the top of next year, I would have thought it would be coming late November/December
  5. I promise you, LFL does tell a story! LFL is all about Lana trying to change herself for the better, and trying to do this through seeing love in the world (Love, Lust For Life), looking at her inner world/current situation exploring her fame and love interests (13 Beaches, Cherry, White Mustang, Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, In My Feelings) and looking to the outer world/the political climate (Coachella, God Bless America, World At War, BPBP). Finally at the end of the record, the change is starting to take place - Lana recognises she needs to change through looking into her past (Heroin), then using all the themes previously explored to help her change (Change), and finally making a change but realising it will not be an easy road (Get Free). I'll admit I am not completely sure where TNC fits, but I hardcore stan it so idc Even though in terms of sound LFL is not her most cohesive record, this perfectly reflects the period of her life at that time. It seems to have been a very confusing time, and the record reflects this. It shows how she seems stuck and is desperately wanting to make a change, but maybe at the moment is not quite managing it (hence why Yosemite did not make it to LFL). LFL is as essential (if not more) in her discography than all her other albums - it signals a big change for the better coming in terms of her wellbeing. I think of LFL as a gateway to a fresh, positive beginning, and that is what I believe the story of LFL is. Coming back to where TNC fits in LFL - Lana said she felt like she had written TNC for someone else. In this way, TNC is almost like Lana trying to escape her current mindset by taking the perspective of someone else, and trying to (temporarily) exist in another world. This comes right before the 'change' segment of LFL, possibly suggesting that Lana is very scared to make these changes so she is trying to distract herself to stop her worries. TNC could also be seen as a regression into a mindset she had pre-LFL because the lyrics imply pining over an ex-lover, which again would still fit into LFL - she is regressing into this mindset because she is so worried about actually making this personal change. Essay complete
  6. Literally no collab would make me unstan. She would have to do something pretty shocking for that... I'm still not looking forward to this MGK collab and I am already overreacting and catastrophising but there is a chance it will turn out fine! I just have to keep telling myself that
  7. I wonder what these lyrics are referring to? If it wasn't for Joe, I would assume MGK and Lana are dating...
  8. i am surprised she is rude to fans! What have you heard?
  9. It's not letting me reply directly to you @ but this is my reply! Yeah... idk I still think whatever happens, it will work. Like if we heard two different snippets of Venice Bitch e.g. the beginning more folky part and the middle with the electric guitar, we may have worried that the album would not be cohesive. But the different sounds (imo) work very well together. It's like with Honeymoon - I think of it as a mix of jazz and trap beats. If I were to be told that without having heard the album, I would think it would be a mess. Even if you only heard HBTB and Swan Song and no other HM tracks, it would be easy to think that HM would be very incoherent. But when you listen to HM as a whole, it works very well! And I think it is safe to say HM is thought to be her most cohesive album of all? What I am trying to say is that, even if there are folky and hip hop tracks on NFR, it very likely will still be very cohesive and work well together!
  10. Okay I hope I don't jinx it but I don't think this collab is for NFR. I think it is probably a collab between Jesse, MGK, and Lana for either one of their projects. I don't follow either of them so idk if they are currently working on anything, but I would have thought this would be more likely. As @@Cacciatore said, Jack doesn't appear to be there so it would seem very odd to continue working on NFR without him considering he has produced the entire album (I am assuming?). It would be very odd to go off in a completely different direction (based on what we have heard of NFR so far), when she said NFR is pretty much done. In conclusion girlies, I think whatever they are working on together will be an extra little treat for us and separate to NFR EDIT: okay @ has a point... BUT even UV was still extremely cohesive (as I would argue all of her other albums have been), so I don't think we are in any danger of that!
  11. YAS QUEEN I swear Your Band Is All The Rage is the most underrated song in Lana's discography
  12. This feels so weird as it's my first time posting in this thread but as a recent Charli stan, I'd say check out Mow That Lawn, Taxi, TKO (all unreleased), and Babygirl (from Number 1 Angel) and the True Romance album!
  13. Since we are talking about the dancers, I have grown to like and appreciate them and I feel bad for saying this but I do feel they are a bit... unnecessary? Of course, you can dance to Lana's music but when I listen, dancing is not my immediate reaction. In my opinion, the Endless Summer Tour was by far her best tour because all of Lana's strongest elements came through. Whether you liked the Endless Summer Tour or not, you can't deny her voice was astounding. Her voice was the main focus of the tour, rather than the 'performance' side. Maybe I am completely wrong with this assumption, but I feel having Ashley and Alex have allowed Lana to become more lazy with her vocals and concentrate more on giving a 'performance'. It seems like the 'performance' side has distracted Lana from doing what she does best - her vocal performance. Therefore, she now focusses more on the dance moves in OTTR rather than singing. Don't get me wrong, I love listening to the OTTR instrumental and watching her dance, but what I love even more is listening to Lana singing live. During the LATTM tour, Lana was stood behind Ashley and Alex, so maybe Lana feels safer and more self-assured having the dancers there? If that is the case, I can perfectly understand her having them. But some of the moves they do just seem, again, unnecessary, and don't fit the vibe of the songs. I feel this is especially the case during Honeymoon - as @@loleetah said, I find it more distracting than actually adding to the performance. In conclusion to my essay, I think things should be taken back to tha basics on tour! Anyway, that's my rant over...
  14. Allie screaming "TIDDIES!!!" at Kim Petras made me cackle
  15. I'm kinda confused that 2 days ago, she teased HTD and now she has teased HiaB again. I thought we had sussed HTD to be the October release (assuming there still will be one) and now I don't knowwww AHHHH what is this woman's game plan
  16. I wonder if the lyrics have been changed? They are SO much better
  17. So I guess we can expect HTD this month? It would make sense for it to be the 'more serious' October single! Although we have learned from our mistakes so I will not be hyping myself up until an official release is announced
  18. Lifted - 39 Simon Says - 19 Old Habits Die Hard - 5 That's So Us - 7 Downtown - 40 True Love Is Violent - 39
  19. Thank you Clampigirl for making this thread! I think this thread will be a very wholesome place! I remember I just used to hate Lana. I used to be one of those who thought she was a spoiled girl who made depressing music. One time when she performed on The Voice UK, she came on to perform and I rolled my eyes and walked out the room. But about a year later, I was sitting in my English class (normally a very hectic, stressful class) and we were all listening to the radio. Video Games started playing, and even though I immediately knew it was Video Games by Lana Del Rey, I fell in love with it. The class all fell silent, and everything felt so peaceful and calm (not the usual atmosphere). In those 5 minutes, it was like everyone in the class just accepted each other as they were and no one had a care in the world. As soon as I got home, I bought BTD on iTunes! That moment of sitting in my English class and Lana coming on the radio will stay with me forever.
