okay, i do kinda agree. Now that i think about it, whenever i listen to Punish i kinda relate it to other shameful sexual behaviors then the crime in question. I wish Punish was honestly not about the crime of pdf, but rather some fetish that is harming physically, or mentally the narrator (like hardcore bdsm, humiliation, cuckolding, cheating or smth). I used to read a lot about such mental developments in people and how it is based on their past, they do struggle with shame and hatred towards themselves because of the things that turn them on, so phrases like "punished by love" do make sense, and whenever i listen to the song i think about the lyrics that way (well apart from the very specific Plauche name drop of course, which in my opinion is the only lyric that points directly at pederasty). edit: also considering the whole album called "Perverts", and not "Pedophiles" i think it would fit the narrative a bit better to dive deep into the perversion and different types of darkness that comes within, not focusing on crimes or specific cases like Plauche

I get your point, however i am the polar opposite. I love how heavy the topics of her art are, this is really the first artist i have discovered that writes about such stuff and i fucking love it the thing about Punish, i honestly always understood the song personally the way that the lyrics can be both from POVs of the predator and the victim. I do obviously know the lore described by Hayden, but i guess good art makes people look at it from multiple angles

her music yall.. i have no one to talk to about it.. whenever i start talking about my favourite artist and her song when she sings from the perspective of a child molester punishing themselves on my corporate work open space i get the looks no one gets me

i did get the Gibson girl cover art legs in engraving style, the "god loves you but not enough to save you" lyrics, as well as "sweet child of c a i n" on my hand with the cain letters on each finger, and bunch of other religious themed tattoos i love them so much, makes me much more interested in having an arm lol

i have my whole arm in ethel-inspired tattoos there is always a risk of a person going bananas, i do have a lana-inspired tattoo, and the times around QFTC or her marrying a Trumpie were really stressful however it is always good and healthy to separate art from an artist. the way Preachers Daughter changed me by touching childhood/family trauma will stick w/ me and mean a lot forever, no matter if I agree with Hayden on certain topics or not

made a lil vacillator artwork while listening to the album the ambient tracks are really growing on me
-
okay, im not into ambient music and white noise, however unlike other clowns i wont be shitting on a project and an artist overall because of my personal taste towards a certain type of music. I still appreciate the songs with a more standard structure which is Punish, Amber Ways and Vacillator. Will i be returning to the ambient trakcs? No. Will i be streaming the songs with vocals religiously? Yes. I am also happy she is releasing a new project, i would prefer the B-sides or Preacher's Wife, however i am patient and happy for the new tracks we just got
