  1. Ten more hours for me. Soo excited to listen to this, I'm confident this might end up being my album of the year.

This one is really interesting because Electric was teased as a potential album title by insiders about a year ago.
  3. A gay artist being... gay? Shocker.
  4. Tracklist + new song teaser:

There were a lot of... choices regarding X. Cherry Bomb is literally one of the best songs from the era and somehow ended up only being a B-side. I'm not mad that Kylie didn't record Excuse My French though, because that way another singer called Charlee got her hands on it and her version is lowkey superior.
  6. Hearing it without the sample, I can now understand why he added it in the first place. There's just something missing from the song without it. But I'm happy that you guys who couldn't get into it now have a version you can enjoy. In other news: AAAAAAAAAAAAA

Start with her 2019 best-of album, Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection (make sure it's the expanded version), it includes songs from all of her albums as well as standalone singles (e.g. Timebomb) and non-album collabs (e.g. Where The Wild Roses Grow). That way, you'll find out pretty easily which songs of hers are your favourites, and then you can decide which full albums to start with. As far as essential songs go (that aren't already part of Step Back In Time), here's my pick:
  8. Nice words, beautiful words. Maybe next time she could try coming up with a memorable melody.
  9. Oh also, while we're trashing discussing Taylor Swift and her songwriting, let me just mention that this woman has some nerve demanding royalties for that one Olivia Rodrigo song when a few years earlier she herself copied a whole ass chorus from Lana without giving her any credit and used it on one of the most succe$$ful songs of her career.
  10. Future Queen of Pop made some points: On a serious note... I disagree with people who say singers who don't write (all of) their own music are less of an artist than, say, Taylor Swift who I personally think is very overrated as a writer, but that's a different discussion. Art comes in many forms and shapes, and in my opinion, someone like Beyoncé curating an album out of all the songs her A&R presents to her, recording her flawless vocals that are leagues above any of those songwriters, and ultimately creating one cohesive body of work out of them that really can be admired and enjoyed as one big whole rather than just a collection of songs – I don't think there's anything wrong with that? In fact, I would argue that no other artist out there would be capable of making Renaissance. And yet, when Renaissance came out, people ridiculed Bey for crediting every co-songwriter, every sample, every voice memo that she used on it, which obviously led to dozens of different writers in the credits. (Not gonna comment on the earlier Beyoncé cases because I honestly don't know enough about them.) This being said, I do hate it when artists contribute very little or only change a few words and still act like they wrote the whole thing. I don't get where this obsession with artists having to write everything themselves comes from? I mean, did the fact that she didn't write her own music make Whitney Houston any less of a legend? No! Similarly (because he's an artist I know a lot about and thus can actually comment on), Troye Sivan was very open about the fact that Rush was presented to him in almost finished form and he then only re-wrote the verses and the bridge, and yet his performance made that song 100 % his own. If we're gonna expect every artist to be a prolific solo writer, an amazing vocalist and a competent live performer, then I'm afraid there's not gonna be any artists left that actually fit that criteria.

Not Kylie unceremoniously dropping what might be the two best songs of the album (aside from the two singles) on a digital deluxe edition that is exclusive to her webstore. That's the sound we wanted from Tension! Those better end up on streaming soon, alongside Running (!!) and Vegas Baby.

People who expected a "cool" album will definitely be disappointed. Leakers already warned us that we shouldn't expect an album full of Padams and Tensions, so with my expectations kept in line, I actually quite enjoy it. Vegas High, Things We Do For Love and You Still Get Me High are all amazing, Hold On To Now and Somebody To Love are great too, and the singles obviously are career highlights. Love Train is awful, but considering it was produced by the same person that committed the crimes that were Golden and Disco, that was to be expected. Some songs sound a bit too Schlager/Disco 2.0 for my taste, but overall it's enjoyable and well produced. If nothing else, at least Kylie delivered her best album since 2014 and we can now collectively forget Disco ever happened. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10 for now and hope we'll get more icy, "cool" songs à la Padam and Tension for the inevitable re-release.
  15. Well, Ava played much smaller venues, so she probably didn't earn that much from them, but... all 100 % sold out, which is great PR and a solid basis for future tours. Personally, I'm convinced her team at Republic is letting her fail intentionally by booking venues she's never gonna be able to fill. There's no way anyone in their right mind could've seriously expected her to sell that many tickets.
  16. Oh no, the sexiness police are here.
  17. I love him so much y'all don't understand. This is shaping up to be AOTY.
  18. Made my own little Problématique album. Not entirely sure about the second half yet, but the Future Starts Now -> Love Ya Leave Ya -> Je t'adore -> Problématique run is essential.
  19. Yess! Although I have to say that @Lum's extended mix has become my definitive version:

  21. Just randomly rediscovered this – what a serve!
  22. Oh don't get me wrong, at this point I'll take anything. I've pretty much given up hope that Start A War (studio version) actually exists lmao.
