Guys! I listened to Psychedelic Soup and it's so amazing! It's has a Rock n Roll vibe, a lot of guitars, drums but also he added a lot of layers on all the songs. Different sounds and melodies. I'm trying to write down the lyrics and add them on Genius. I really hope he gets the attention he deserves with this album.
Also it seems like the album is separated in 2 parts. Song 10 is called 'Interlude' and you can't here anything for a while. It's like a long pause followed by 5 more songs which sound more aggressive.
Here's the track list:
1. Spooky Blues
2. Moonlight
3. Mad man
4. Art of Horror
5. Fnky (instrumental)
6. Float
7. Free Like a Bird
8. Drop D
9. Magic Me
10. Interlude
11. Flame
12. Moonroom
13. Ages Away
14. Witches
15. Orion
If you have pre-ordered the album, then you'll have the link to it! Please help with the lyrics

It's a pretty song, but this slideshow of old photos of them together makes me uncomfortable

Im assuming it was just between them, seems more intimate. Also I'm guessing Barrie produced it

You guys are so talented!! I haven't listened to all of the songs posted but i will tomorrow. @@VioletRhyme your voice is amazing!
I have written a lot of songs but only recently released one. I have no knowledge on music recording and music production and i was very lucky to have met someone who does. And we started making music together. I'm so happy a dream of me came true.
So this is the song. It also has a music video:
We also made a cover of one of Barrie's songs (Barrie-James O' Neill, Lana's ex)

I love the Barrie theories from you guys, especially the Venice Bitch one. I just found a few more lines that screamed Barrie to me.
Fear fun, fear love
Fresh out of fucks, forever
Tryin' to be stronger for you
Ice cream, ice queen
I dream in jeans and leather
Life's dream, I'm sweet for you Could reference Barries depression, maybe him beeing afraid of fun and love or thinking he does not deserve those feelings. Also her trying to be there for him and be the strong one he can lean on. Give me Hallmark
One dream, one life, one lover
Paint me happy and blue
Blue as the synonym of their relationship - he made her happy but at the same time pulled her down with his own inner darkness and made her feel blue.
From NFR I think we definitely can add California to the Barrie Songs as the Barrie anthem.
In addition these lines from FIILY
So I moved to California, but it's just a state of mind
It turns out everywhere you go, you take yourself, that's not a lie
Wish that you would hold me or just say that you were mine
It's killing me slowly You moved to California, but it's just a state of mind
And you know everyone adores you
You can't feel it and you're tired
Baby, wish that you would hold me or just say that you were mine
But it's killing me slowly
give me Lana/Barrie vibes. They both moved to California but they also took their personal problems with them. Also Lana telling Barrie that he is fine and loved the way he is; but him not beeing able to see that.

Yeah there is quite a lot of Barrie links in Venice Bitch I think...
The jeans and leather
The lyrics "Bang Bang" - Nancy Sinatra's most famous song (Him and her covered the Nancy Sinatra's song Summer Wine). Also the lyrics of that song could fit into their break-up...
Now he's gone, I don't know why
And 'till this day, sometimes I cry
He didn't even say goodbye
He didn't take the time to lie Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down
"Crimson and Clover" is a song, she says he likes Crimson and Clover - He supports Celtic FC who's badge is a clover, could be a double meaning if he also likes the song. Lana wearing a Celtic t-shirt where you can see the clover a bit...
"You write, I tour, we make it work" - he is a songwriter and im not sure if her other ex-Boyfriends were?
"Venice Bitch" - He also lived in Venice Beach.

Oh OP, going back to your Heroin theory, it’s worth noting that the verse that talks about the heat making the kids crazy and:
Oh, writin' in blood on my walls and shit
Like, ah, oh my God
Jumpin' off from the walls into the docks and shit
I’m pretty confident that this is a direct reference to the Charles Manson murders that happened during summer in the 60s. Charles Manson was able to manipulate his cult of young people to murder Sharon Tate and her husband.
They wrote on the walls using the victims’ blood.
This makes sense because Lana references the 60s a ton and tends to go for controversial topics. Not only that but it matches the blood reference and she mentions cults often , which were big back then too (Charles Manson’s cult and the Jonestown cult as examples).
Another fun fact: the cult leader’s name in Jonestown was named Jim.
And hello everyone! New to the boards! First post and v excited.

I discovered Soko from the First kiss video. I LOVED her first album and i remember watching live videos and interviews and she inspired me to write a few songs. Also through her i discovered Keaton Henson who i ADORE. I remember back then she posted a review of her that stated she sounds a bit like Lana. I don't remember what it said exactly. And she was basically very negative towards Lana. And now, a few months ago she posted photos with Lana and Sean Lennon. I am not big fan of her second album, not my taste of music. But i've seen her film La danseuse and she was veeery good in it!!

Hello guys! this is former Nightmare boy online. I was having problems signing in using my twitter account so after many tries i just quit. But today i saw something i thought i should post here so i made a new profile. So Barrie's manager, Scottie Diablo (who was a friend of Lana and met Barrie through her) posted a playlist on spotify with all Barrie's discography, including TWO songs he co-wrote with Lana. The one is of course BROOKLYN BABY and guess which is the second?? BLACK BEAUTY. I wonder why he is not credited though..
Also when Hi, how are you? was out, and i listened to Lana's soundtrack i was sure that Barrie was playing the guitar so i contacted him and asked him. He said that he was indeed playing the guitar and he was also the producer of the song (!!) - both Barrie and Lana were credited as producers of the film as well. So i asked him why he wasn't credited to which he replied 'i guess the one name is bigger than the other'.
So i'll give you a quick update:
-Barrie is working on his second album 'Psychedelic Soup'. In e recent interview he said it is almost ready. (you can listen here
)-Barrie is going on a tour in North Scotland, starting today
-He gave a lot of shows the past year and has more planned in Glasgow. He said there might be a show in Europe soon.

Soko is also an actress, she was in Her and Augustine among others, and has a Lana Del Rey connection with the Daniel Johnston short film.
She played Dream Laurie in Hi How are you Daniel Johnston
Her song, We might be Dead by Tomorrow, rocketed to #9 on the US Hot 100 (staying on the chart for only one week), after it was used for a youtube video "First Kiss"
making it the only record to be in the top 10 and fall off the charts the next week.

Got bored so I made a cover for the "lost album" Black Beauty, i.e. all the untouchable 5 songs and whatever else might've been on the original album. I used about 5 different photos to make it, and the main one is from her Luxxx Magazine photoshoot. The idea behind the cover is just making it a mix between Paradise and UV since that's what it was in between. I might make a full spread with a back cover and booklet but I don't know yet. Let me know what you think! I don't know what else to do

Interesting point, but I don't think UV was much about Barrie, or even in reaction to Barrie, but about being the other woman or being in, or addicted to, abusive relationships (at least for the first half of UV). Maybe Barrie "facilitated" things by being dark at the time, but he was definitely not intended as the topic. Also I think she was intentionally shooting for "dark" on UV as a critic-reaction to Born to Die (which we can now understand as her HAPPY album, LOL). Probably Black Beauty was about Barrie, but that's about it. On the other hand, Barrie's (also great) album Cold Coffee, is about Lana, sort of. However, what is most interesting about the album is that it is virtually all about his internal feelings, with nothing much external blamed or referenced as to what went wrong. I also think he still adores her, well at least there's this cryptic tweet (the pronoun "her" is left unspecified): https://twitter.com/NightmareBjo/status/732047059310804992 and some interesting twitter banter from him from time to time. However, at the end of "Thunder" (and admittedly he's very sloppy on the enunciation of that critical word) he makes it a little more clear that he's moved on, imo.
