  1. Omg now everyone that got salty about the feminist spiel can shut the fuck up now (and I say the latter with a smile and a jesting "told you so" laugh.) And that boy on Tumblr's gonna be going through the dumps to retrieve that copy of BTD he threw away in a hissyfit.
  2. You like to rage Don't do that You want your way You make me so mad Gotcha gun, I've got my Dad. High up in the Hollywood hills Crushing violet pills You've been trying to write a novel 'bout your cheap thrills— You think you're Hunter S. Thompson; I think you're fucking crazy as the day's long. On a side note, Hunter S. Thompson was also a writer that very much enjoyed blurring the lines between fact and fiction when portraying himself in his work, and also loved the idea of self-destruction. Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs and Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas are two of his many works. Also, let's discuss how Barrie might look like a younger Hunter if he went bald and beardless (not that I ever want him to.)
  3. Immaculate cover, just absolutely immaculate. Some of the best vocal showcasing tracks on UV, Jeff Buckley and Nina Simone would be in love with this track so much. And so am I. Love the slight lyrical variations, and her singing is so fucking beautiful. So. Fucking. Beautiful.
  4. "Some songs are a big " fuck you " to all those who think instead of me, all those who think that they know who I am, what I want. Every day I have to face people who think that I am a joke. And the worst, is that my career was launched on this misunderstanding !" THAT'S RIGHT, BABY.

    Song vs. Song

Brooklyn Baby vs. True Love on the Side
  6. Brooklyn Baby went beyond my expectations, and pretty much blew UV, SOC and WC out of the water for me; love them, but Brooklyn Baby is just fucking immaculate. Love the lyrics, love the delivery, love that "narco-swing." Absolutely fucking erotic and arousing, and all around just a sonically, adventurously languid and invigorating song. This track is liquid meth. And Barry's singing at the end just sends me over omfgsomeonegetmeafuckingragplease.
  7. Speaking of dying, why is your avi a picture of Kenan Thompson dressed in drag?
  8. This may be the single I look forward to most so far, to be honest. ^ That gif is going to be relevant for the next forever.
  9. Oh my fucking god, the Universe is really looking to make sure I have an awesome week leading into my birthday, and following it because June has not disappointed me yet, and neither has Lana. Fuck yes.
  10. The difference is that she's not name-dropping anyone, even in the track (as the interview seems to indicate anyway,) and I don't know why she can't write a song about someone attacking her as an artist without it having to be a diss song and not just a plain, "fuck off," self-assuring kind of song. But either way, I have always loved a good "back at'cha" track, and I personally don't think there's anything petty about it that isn't entertaining. Mariah/Eminem, Nicki/Kim, Eamon/Frankee, etc., they're all still alive and well. Let's not make this track more than it probably is, we don't even know the approach she's going to take. But that's just me, I'm not particularly worried about her dragging anyone. I'm just as excited for the song just as much as the rest of them.
  11. Oh, Jesus fucking yellow penguins, yes. I am going to fucking cum.
  12. In the bridge: Blessed is this union, She says it "bless-ed," which I do hear frequently, it all depends on where you are. I love when she plays with pronunciation, it's so fucking cute.
  13. I literally just said this in a conversation on FB. While I love SOC, West Coast, UV (to a degree,) and what we've heard so far of Brooklyn Baby, I think Lana's getting these tracks out of the way because the other thirteen (including the bonus tracks,) are what's going to really define ULTRAVIOLENCE. Why else have we not heard her favorite track yet? This album's going to fucking slay me, and if it doesn't slay anyone else in the end, fuck it, I'm still jammin'.
  14. How I feel about both sides of this UV argument right now: https://soundcloud.com/callmestoopkid/fangirl-freakout
  15. I HEAR THIS TOO. I HEAR THIS TOO. I don't know about Madame Monet or le Monet, just because it just seems really out of place for Camille Monet to be referred to in a song like ULTRAVIOLENCE. I mean, lemonade is odd as fuck (as much as I do love the idea of it,) but it works.
  16. I think listening to the live version so much really gassed up my expectations for the studio version. I love it because it's ULTRAVIOLENCE, and I really adore the lyrics, but the production just seems a little too rough-drafty for a studio version. I don't know how to feel about the spoken bridge; it sounds so different live, so much more intimate and almost upsetting. It seems rushed and impersonal in the studio version. I'll probably feel differently when I hear it on the album following Cruel World and preceding Shades of Cool. I love it, but I'm not in love with it, you know?
  17. I plan on dressing up in denim and leather, and going on a date with...*ahem,* the Green Giant, in my backyard. A really long one, and I'm not going to listen to any Lana music beforehand the whole day so that I don't have any of the songs stuck in my head while listening. When I'm done, I'm gonna set up my hookah, get a bottle of wine, set up a bunch of Christmas lights throughout my room, turn off the other lights, and then listen to ULTRAVIOLENCE from start to finish with my headphones, uninterrupted. It's either that, or when I finish the "date," I'm gonna stay outside and listen to ULTRAVIOLENCE while hoop-dancing or dancing with my LED whip. I am also considering listening to it while going on a high-and-wine walk to the beach, and finishing the album there. I can't recall the last time I ever listened to an album in full without skipping the tracks, so I wanna try with UV.
  18. I've been thinking of doing the same thing except I don't know if it's a definite that someone got me it for my birthday. If it leaks, I'm gonna have to disappear from LB for a little bit because I kinda been planning a ritual for my first listen of UV and it won't be the same. The fact that I even planned out a ritual shows the thirst is serious. They will never understand.
  19. I am so conflicted between wanting snippets and waiting until the album comes out; I'm so excited for all the tracks but I REALLY want to fucking hear her cover of The Other Woman so damn bad.
  20. I thought Shark Week wasn't until August, what the fuck is one doing in the ULTRAVI—...oh.

    Song vs. Song

Us Against the World vs. You & Me
  22. "I'm one of many/ one is blue," She's the lonelier woman out of the many he sleeps around with, while he goes and tries to fulfill his desires elsewhere, she's left alone, blue. At least that's how I interpreted that line, makes sense to me from that angle.
  23. Brooklyn Baby sounds so arousing, I immediately got 0304-Jewel-on-psychedelics-esque vibes. So far I have not disliked a single track or snippet we've heard from UV. Omg. Yes.
