  1. Brooklyn Baby sounds so arousing, I immediately got 0304-Jewel-on-psychedelics-esque vibes. So far I have not disliked a single track or snippet we've heard from UV. Omg. Yes.
  2. Out of what's been released? Shades of Cool seems to be my first idea at the moment. Out of unreleased? Golden Grill, definitely.
  3. THAT TRACKLIST. I AM HOPING FOR DOWNLOAD CODES OR SOMETHING FOR THE BOXSET. THERE'S NO WAY THEY CAN'T. OKAY THERE IS BUT...
  4. Oh, Jesus fucking yellow penguins, YES. This era is going to slay. And Nightshade is one of my favorite flowers next to the Rafflesia and Lotus. This song is fucking me up inside. All the UV songs are going to, I know it.
  5. Omfg I'm gonna die. I NEED this in full.
  6. Fuck, this is really tough. I mean, I would have to say that if I had to listen to only one First Aid Kit song for the rest of my life, it would probably be "Pervigilo" before anything else. I mean, the lyrics are so hear-wrenchingly beautiful and simple, and the meaning of the title just really creates the atmosphere for the throes of feeling a love unrequited and lacking the courage to speak with candor about said feelings. Definitely a great fucking song.
  7. I mean, I know just about everyone's speculating it to be in "Ultraviolence," but I'm actually wondering if we might get surprised and see it on another track like "Shades of Cool," maybe "Pretty When You Cry" (which I think just by lyric/song-title association would be dark as fuck.) But I'm sure "Ultraviolence" is will be more likely, I'm hoping either "Sad Girl" or "Pretty When You Cry" I hope SG has the disposition Lana has in "All Smiles," like, she puts on a brave-face but really, she's sad and just trying to keep her pride. Also, I think it's really cute how most of the song titles are similar to what you would see in the track-listing of a '50s songbird's record. I really love a lot of the contradiction/contrasting nature of UV so far. Bradley said this era's dark and fucked, and I'm wet-dreaming about this era until it releases, and hopefully forever afterwards.
  8. Pretty much annoyed everyone in my house for this since my birthday's coming up June 10th. Because it's either that or I sell my right testicle to the black market because I'm otherwise a broke full-time college student. This boxset is a really fucking huge deal to me especially because tbh I don't have any physical collection besides a stencil my friend made me and a Lana blanket and I get so fucking jelly with everyone else's collection. Omfg I can't believe this is all happening, it felt like we were waiting forever and now it seems like it's all happening so fast.
  9. Oh my god I am horrible at keeping up with the threads I open, I need to work on that once Finals Week is over. Silver Lining and Cedar Lane are fucking phenomenal. I can't say I love one more than the other. That's what I really love about First Aid Kit; they really have a way of bringing such a wide spectrum of muses and experiences into their albums that it can be hard to choose definite favorites. There'll never be another Pervigilo or In the Hearts of Men, but there will now never be another Silver Lining or Cedar Lane. I am so fucking excited for this album, and apparently the Deluxe Collector's Bundle will ship before or on my birthday; I am going to have to start dropping birthday gift hints to people. I need to have UV and Stay Gold in my physical possession.
  10. Oh, no, don't get me wrong, no assumptions being made, and I totally love the song as it is, it's just a fun thought to entertain!
  11. Omfg I'm so behind that theory, I'd really hate to see AFFA get scrapped.
  12. I don't know, the text for ULTRAVIOLENCE is pretty bold, and compared to AKALG, BTD, and Paradise, I don't really see how it sticks out like a sore thumb save for the black and white look (which I do like.) I also do agree that there's a bit of an empty space (mostly in the top-left corner) that makes the balance a bit awkward, but I think it is a very quaint album/single cover. But I think as far as attracting sales go, I do think some people are underrating the power of simple marketing. I mean, the whole concept of decked-out and abstract album art is pretty common, the last time I was shopping and ventured into the music section (mostly to just see if any Lana albums would be lurking about,) there was a lot of that going on. Album art like this does end up sticking out in the sea of funky colors or over-the-top album art themes. Someone could just as easily be looking, and be like, "Oh, wow, this one's different, really simple... the girl's really attractive...hmmm, 'ULTRAVIOLENCE'... 'Sad Girl,' 'Money Power Glory,' 'Fucked My Way Up to the Top?' Haha, shit, why not!?" And buy it. I'm not knocking off anyone's opinion on the album art, I totally get why some people don't care for it. ULTRAVIOLENCE certainly gave me different ideas of what the album cover would look like, I think I love it so much because it wasn't what I was expecting. But on the bright side, people are always crafting some pretty boss fan-art for the albums. Also, I really, really like @@DWould's way of thinking explaining why the album art doesn't have Lana's name in the background. Attracting sales through enigma. Nice!
  13. This is very interesting. Has anyone manipulated a high-res version without any of the text? I'd like to play around with it a bit. Also, I know it really wasn't what most people may have been expecting, but I really appreciate this kind of cover...whether it's for the album or the song. I really like the direction she's been going for with the style of the album art, very vintage record sleeve-esque. I adore it.
  14. The one they replaced the original iTunes version with where the harmonies were higher and more crisp! Sorry for the confusion!
  15. I LOVE the original and the alternate vocals mix, but this version is so fucking awesome. Definitely a great mix in its own right. Not to mention I really prefer a few of the lyric changes in this version. I do wish that lead in the last chorus made it, and it feels like the song ends too soon, but it is a radio mix, after all. But omfg yes, such an awesome version. What if the demos of WC are like this?
  16. it makes perfect sense that The Other Woman could easily be a Nina Simone cover...it is practically the prelude to Black Beauty. They would be so synergestic with each other. Holy fucking shit. I am praying.
  17. Omfg I'd love for it to be June 9th, the day before my birthday. Omfg Lanapls. If the dates are gonna be different, watch her release it on her birthday.
  18. I must be the last one to show up at the party, ARE THOSE CRUEL WORLD LYRICS? And omfg though like now I am 10x more amped for UV. I have a feeling I'm going to be playing Pretty When You Cry on a loop for the rest of my days.
  19. Fucked My Way Up to the Top is SO definitely going to be a personal fuck you to all the negative critics delivered by our lovely babydoll. And I really fucking hope Brooklyn Baby has something to do with TLOTS. We're going to have to "BrBa" Brookyn Baby so that we don't mix it up with BB/Black Beauty. But omfgomfgomfgomfg want want want NEED to get the deluxe preorder.
  20. Omfg my heart. So awkwardly beautiful. I am so using it as album art.
  21. OH, YOU KNOW THEY ANGRY-FUCKED. Jesus Christ this is one of my favorite about-Lana interviews. This means everything to me. Yaaas, fight for that individualism, show that initiative, Lana!!!
