  1. And Summer of Sam, and TMTP, and TLOTS—some people just want to watch this forum fucking BURN.
  2. This is tough, just because it's so subjective and my feelings can be very fickle when I'm listening to music, so songs will hit me some days but other days they will instead evoke acceptance or contentment for me such as songs like Pawn Shop Blues, TNTBSA, Fordham Road...usually it's the latter feelings for a lot of Lana's more solemn/desolate-themed songs. But I'd personally have to say some of my saddest listening experiences have involved Methamphetamines, Hollywood's Dead, Born to Die, Hawaiian Tropic, ADDY, Starry Eyed, YBIATR, You Mister, Video Games, I Don't Wanna Go, and TVB&W—some of those I've cried to, but for the majority, I've just experienced an overwhelmingly intense bout of blues. Probably just because Lana does a lot of the opening up to vulnerability for me when I listen to her, so there's a safety-net between me and the emotional typhoon. The same goes for even her covers of Goodbye Kiss, Chelsea Hotel No. 2, and The End of the World.
  3. This. I love me some HDBDEMO and Boarding School, but they could never trump Trash Magic. Ya'll gotta lay off huffing sharpie markers and nail polish.

I was thinking today how I'd love to hear a Night version of Never Wanna Know—and then it happened. And it's fucking beautiful.
  5. New song from our beloved Barrie! Such a beautiful horror of a masterpiece. Fucking perfect.

NMTF is immaculate; I'm in love with the whole album so much. But I really, really want to hear Chillin' With Max—pretty much need to. Slow Love is so sexy, I swear. Such a lovely song to hoop to.
  7. No, rebel's right, we should leave it to Stoop Kid. ULTRAVIOLENCE: HOLY STOOP KID EDITION
  8. Are you serious? Please, tell me how that promoting of civil discussion between people of differing opinions is working out for you. Sometimes silence is the best remark if you can't practice what you preach. Moving on... I think Lana looks great; anyone's face can look bloated if they're caught at the wrong angle.
  9. I SWEAR MY ADDY MUST BE CUT OR SOMETHING BECAUSE I HAVE CRANKED UP MY CANS SO MANY LISTENS AND STILL CAN'T HEAR IT.
  10. I remember when "posting" didn't have to be associated with social-networking in its definition, and I know she probably meant Facebook anyway and that's how people are gonna interpret it, but I really think it was cute either way. At least she doesn't blatantly say Facebook, so I can still imagine photos being tacked onto a bedroom wall.
  11. I think you need to curl up in a dryer because you're the wettest blanket in this laundromat.
  12. Baby, if you love me, take me to the gas station.
  13. Why do you have to be such a dingleberry all the time?
  14. Also, am I going bananas or does the way Lana sings the first two lines in the third verse sound really fucking familiar? I know I've heard her sing like that in another song but I can't remember which one. I am going to have an existential crisis. EDIT: DELICIOUS. IT WAS DELICIOUS. "And you can take your jets galore, oh, I ain't gonna love you more, oh~" "Keep them other girls at bay, oh, I would blow them all away." NO WONDER WHY I COULDN'T REMEMBER AT FIRST; IT'S MY LEAST FAVORITE.
  15. Just put in what you got! I was skeptic of the [bitch]/[Dish] part when I heard it, but Bitch definitely fits in that funny, S&M-Lana way. I wasn't even thinking of a correspondence with H&R, but I can totally see it! Also, we could put this song on the list of Most Difficult Transcriptions because holy fuck it definitely took out a chunk of my evening trying to figure out some of the lyrics.
  16. Right now, I think they make the most sense, so I'm going to put those in for now!
  17. What a sexy song... You know how to whistle, don'cha? Just put your lips together, (Just put your lips together,) And blow (And blow, x2) You can be a pop princess, Put you in a party dress; You can make your smile wide/white, You can party up all night! And you can take your jets galore, oh, I ain't gonna love you more, oh (or) I am gonna love you up, oh. You strike me as a type of guy, Who doesn't know what he's lookin' for. You say that you're a gangsta', And that the whole world's against ya'. I can be your liaison To all things fu-u-un (fun!)/fine If you wanna win, let me in, let me in. Everybody knows I'm a lucky dice, lucky roll. If you want me bad, just put your lips together and blow. You know how to whistle, don'cha? Just blow, just blow. You know who's the most fun, don'cha? (The secret is, the secret is...) Just put your lips together, and blow. I can be your dirty bitch, bitch I can be your only wish Don't you think it's time to switch? Switch it up, baby, please 'Cause if you're doing the same thing You'll get the same thing Don't you want better? You is a smart boy Don't you want heaven? Don't you want heaven here on earth? If you wanna win, let me in, let me in If you want me back, all you have to do is sin Put your lips together, put your lips together You know how to whistle, don't'cha? Put your lips together, won't'cha? And blow, and blow You know how to whistle, don't'cha? You know who's the most fun, don't'cha? It's me, baby Put your lips together, put your lips together Blow hard-hard, don't stop [bitch,] know I want-want, you, babe, you, babe Ah-ah-ah-ah, blow hard-hard Don't stop-stop-stop It's all I really want, it's all I really want Is you, you, you/you to... You know how to whistle, don't'cha? You know who's the most fun, don't'cha? Don't'cha know, babe? Just put your lips together and blow If you wanna win, let me in, let me in If you want me back, all you have to do is sin Put your lips together and blow Let me in If you wanna win, let me in, let me in
  18. I hear "Trouble on the train," too, it makes sense with the rest of the verse and the verse following it. Everybody knows they call Lana "Trouble," baby.

    Song vs. Song

The End of the World (Live) vs. All Smiles
  20. Made some lyric-suggestions. Very YBIATR vibes with some possible connections to YGLM, UATW along with the line seen in Carmen's bridge. So cute, I love it!
  21. You can only be strong for so long; It may not eat you, but it will beat you— So this is why I tell you—I really don't understand this time. Rejection is one thing— But rejection from a fool Is cruel.
  22. Coca Colla... Coca——Colla... ... Coca Colla  :hoshet:  Guys, I might just be really baked but I thought of something. Coca: Coca-Cola reference and also a wordplay on the reference to cocaine. Colla...what if she really means "colla'," like the collar of a shirt? Cocaine residue would often be found on the clothing of users, it'd make sense that one of the most common places might be around the collar or neckline of the shirt, since when it's not injected, it's usually snorted or rubbed on the gums with a fingertip. What if Coca Colla and Television Heaven are Lana's love song to a cocaine addiction/addict, or from the perspective of a coke addict in a relationship?
  23. Maybe I'm just reading too much into her lyrics sometimes, but when I heard the first verse, I thought of a line from Morrissey's "Dial-a-Cliché" And you find that you've organized your feelings for people Who didn't like you then, and do not like you now. Honestly, I frequently find associations between Morrissey/The Smiths and Lana in their lyrics. Does anyone know if Lana happens to be a fan?
  24. I had a theory that I proposed in the thread for UV pertaining to this. With roughly 200+ unreleased tracks, I don't know how there weren't more albums. A lot of artists in my library that have that large of a roster have released them in albums. What's more, an easy 85-90% of them are pure gems, finished or not. And they have gotten a lot of exposure, too; a good deal of Lana fans I've encountered, while not knowing a lot of the songs, do make mention of a handful of unreleased tracks. If I remember from one of the interviews where the interviewer mentions "Puppy Love," I think it's apparent that Lana acknowledges that they appealed to many fans. So I don't think we've seen the last of them in Lana's discography. I do think that there are tracks and concepts that she's done where, while they may not have gotten EPs or a slot in a roster for an album, I feel Lana's just been biding her time for the right opportunity to combine them into the right project. There are definitely some unreleased songs that Lana loves too, too much to let them collect dust.
