  1. WITH YOU GUYS. I still am praying that this is not just a soundcheck but actually a subtle showcasing of one of the intended songs for Ultraviolence. It is literally the best fourteen seconds of my life and I cannot handle the power of this fantasy.
  2. I personally do not think Live or Die is going to make it to UV, I can't really formulate too much of a supporting reason just because we haven't heard anything that is directly linked to Ultraviolence (and that goes for Black Beauty and AFFA, too, because Lana can easily scrap them as third-album concept tracks,) but I just don't think it will resonate with the sound or atmosphere Lana says she intends for the third-album. I hope no one minds that I change the subject, I'm just worried that this rumor/speculation/possible half-truth might overshadow the discussion we could be having about ULTRAVIOLENCE, even if all we're discussing is possible sound/style/lyrical themes or even possible inspirations. Speaking of the latter, does anyone have possible/fantasy inspirations in mind that Lana may be using to find her muse with ULTRAVIOLENCE? I know Clockwork Orange is up there, and I personally can see Lana, with her intentions of a stripped down album, also be driven by the poetry of Frank O'Hara (if she read his work, of course. I feel like it wouldn't be a surprise, so much of Frank's work would be delightful to Lana.) Does anyone have a theme they want to see in UV? If there's still a connection to Lana's nature in AKALG/BTD[PARADISE]/both, what do you want her to carry over in UV? What do you want her to leave behind?

  6. Personally, with the intentions of a stripped-down album, I'd love to see Lana go in a very Indie-esque direction, like Father John Misty's "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings," or "Nancy from Now On," or Dear Euphoria, or even more surreal undertones like Daughter while maybe incorporating post-rock or even some subtle electric vibes (I do not want an EDM album from Lana for a long time tbh.) I have a feeling that Lana's starting to identify with herself a little differently as an artist. I'm personally glad that the BTD/Paradise chapter is finally over. ULTRAVIOLENCE sounds like a whole new angle of Lana just from the name. I think that ULTRAVIOLENCE is going to really show the Lana that's a freebird with a newly discovered way of feeling and breathing, all the while undergoing an emotional conflict between confidence and uncertainty, joy and disconsolation, the parting with old love and the welcoming of a new love, the reconciling between memories and moving on. I think this is going to give a scope on how Lana's been living in the "now" since VG and BTD. ULTRAVIOLENCE is going to be

  11. JUST REMEMBERED! If Lana did a cover of this song, I'd fucking die. I'd especially die if Barrie sang the verse at 1:58...

    Kerli

Okay, I did a bit of a clean-up with my music folder (fuck,) and I guess I never got around to putting certain artists' songs in their folders, because a few went missing (fuck...,) but I especially lost 75% of Kerli's unreleased stuff (FUCK.) I only have 33 or 34 songs including her duet with Tokio Hotel, Stay Golden and a live performance of WYC (thankfully still have the studio version.) Does anybody know if there's a tumblr masterpost/archive of all the unreleased songs? I would just go and find the songs one-by-one, but I don't really like how I've been hitting dead ends with websites full of YouTube rips and inconsistent kbps rates.

DOUBLE POSTING... This is what I have in my library for MØ/anything MØ-related. Anybody wanna help me expand my collection? Some of the other links are either dead or redirect me to an unrelated site. Admittedly, Hula Hey (to a point,) really put me off. I dig Hula Hey's sound, but other than that, I can't get into it.

I love Dear Boy, but Never Wanna Know has definitely been my shit for the past few days. I didn't realize how great it was until I actually listened to the lyrics. And Dreams on the Menu with Peacefull James is actually good, too. Definitely a great addition to any party playlist. I gotta expand my collection, definitely.
  15. I would give up Sissy Spacek and mochi ice cream for Lana to cover this classic: Or even... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfkpoVpdpTY Killing Me Softly, too, whether in the image of the Fugees or Roberta Flack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eClxA5KO9jE Even this Celine Dion/Eric Carmen song Lana-fied: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8hhTPdzYcA I was just thinking of another good one, too, but I completely forgot in the middle of putting the link to All By Myself in this post. It'll come back to me hopefully.
