  1. Thanks for your thoughtful responses. I didn't mean to really anger anyone, especially you British since after Canada you are the best friends of the US. I just wished she lived in the US and I think that her fan base in the US is much bigger than people realize and I hope she hasn't given up on her home country. I guess I shouldn't take her moving to the UK as some statement about her American fan base and she'll always have connections to the US. It's that moving to the UK from the US is pretty rare and the history of the US is that people leave other places for greater opportunity in America. Given that people have left the Old World for new opportunities in the US and people continue to see the US as a place of opportunity it just seems different that one would leave the US for the UK for opportunity. We don't have a monarchy and we don't have nobility in the US and there's more opportunity to get ahead in the US despite our problems.
  2. I just wish she wouldn't leave the US and continue working in America. In reality though British rock and roll and pop musicians got their inspiration from American artists and American music. Rock and roll is American music and so is rap and hip-hop.
  3. I've always thought what makes Lana's music appealing especially to Europeans is her Americaness. She is an America and I wonder if she'll lose her edge living in the UK. I mean the day of their empire is long gone and as a cultural force the UK is through and they only think they are important in world affairs because the US lets them think they are. Madonna went through a creative wasteland with her time spent in the UK. I'm glad though that Lana recorded and wrote her album in the US. I don't get living in the UK though, there's no creative energy in a place where an empire dies and they get their ideas in music from the US anyways but as a devoted fan I want what's best for her and if she's happy in the UK then so be it. She's more popular in the UK and Europe so I don't blame her but until you make it big in America you haven't really made it.
  4. Well the tabloid press in the UK is especially horrible. Just look at the recent scandals at the Murdoch papers. Plus in NYC and LA celebrities are much more common. It seems to be that she's more popular in Europe which is fine and great for her, but it seems to come at a greater price. In the US she would be more able to do regular everyday stuff.
  5. She'd have more privacy in the US living in NYC or Los Angeles and even the Midwest where she would blend in more.
  6. Tell me about the Brits? Is this like a UK version of the people's choice awards? Or the Canadian Junos? I guess this is primarily for British and former British Empire artists? Is that why Lana won the International award? She couldn't win the other awards which are awarded for British artists? I was pleasantly surprised to see Lana beat Alicia Keys, Rhianna and Taylor Swift for the award for best international artist when they are bigger in the US than Lana. I have to hand it to the British for awarding this to Lana.
  7. I disagree. I've talked to people who are not Lana fans but don't dislike her and they have commented that her performance wasn't that good. I don't think her performance led to a greater success. I actually think that it would be about the same.

    USA Tour?

Man I hope she tours the USA. We are her home country and we love her more than the bitches before. She lives in the US and she is an American. Be young, be dope and be proud. I want her to tour the midwest especially: Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit.
  9. Another thing I wish to add is that new artists have record contracts that are heavily biased in favor of the record companies. One hit record or two does not mean that an artist is rich and set for life. Studio time is very expensive and the costs of touring are expensive. I want Lana to sell as many records and tickets and merchandise that she can. Sure it would be cool to be able to talk to her and I think you can on her first US tour, but very few artists actually get "rich" like Beatles and Rolling Stones or Madonna rich.
  10. I have a new favorite Lana Picture.
  11. Not a huge fan of their music, but if they toured I might to see them just to ask him how's Lana and maybe for a chance to see Lana if she's there. If it wasn't for Lana I wouldn't really follow or care for the band. They are small enough fame wise that you would get stand a good chance to talking him to him at a show or something after the show or so on or maybe catch them as they hop on the tour bus for the next show.
  12. Don't be foolish. The more people who like Lana the better for her. She sells more records and tickets and merchandise and makes some money. If you really like Lana you want the best for her and let's face it. Selling more records is better for her. She most likely won't become the next Madonna or Lady Gaga so let her enjoy some financial success that comes with getting more popular. Some things are too good to not share.
  13. yeah, but Lana is so pretty her tattoo would look heavenly.
  14. Just wondering? I think I would, but I would get a halo around her head and then sometimes tell people it's the Virgin Mary or Mary Magdalene. What picture would you use? I would use the picture from the photo shot from the album cover of Born to Die.
  15. I prefer the album versions. One thing about BTD is that it comes very close to having too much hip-hop influence in my opinion. It seems especially so if you listen to it with headphones. The headphones seem to amplify the hip hop influences.
  16. I'd love a kiss from her. That would be awesome.
  17. I also like this picture for the look on her face.
  18. I have to say it's her music first that I like and yes she is beautiful and yes an older man I love her attraction to older men. I would still like her as an artist but her loveliness makes her even more appealing.
  19. If it makes you feel better the people buying them are true fans. Not everyone can get a chance to see her in person.
  20. I know you said two, but I like this one as well.
  21. No, I'm a very liberal American who voted for Obama and wants American to be a better country. It's just that Lana could have only come from the USA given our history the and nature of the country.
  22. I'm not against other countries. But America is the only country in the world that could have given us Lana Del Rey. America has done some bad things, but our history of bringing people from all over the world together in one place is what makes America the best.
