  2. Ask if the tour is going to be mostly the new album, or a more standard setlist from her. Trying to decide if I should fly to Vancouver lol
  3. I think the chorus is brilliant. The verses and pre-chorus build to something more emotional and dramatic so we're expecting her to keep going in that direction, but instead she slides back into something very casual on the surface, but also desperate in nature which makes the song a lot more heartbreaking for me. She really, really wants this guy to come back to California, but she doesn't want to know him how badly she misses him or how much guilt and regret she feels from their relationship, and it really doesn't feel like he's ever coming back.

  7. Let's all keep in mind that she said this will be a surprise release, so we really should be expecting nothing but silence.
  8. I mean in that case a lot more people should be in hot water...
  9. HOLLLY shit. Amazing video!!! One of her best every for sure. So hilarious, cute, bizarre, and lowkey deep with Lana and Lizzy coming together. Also reinforces the themes that I feel the album is about. Lana vs Lizzy and that war between her two personas in her mind. What a lovely way for them to come together.
  10. Hey I haven't gotten confirmation either, and I'm also in Canada. When I click on my order it says Pending - Will Ship August 30, so I think we'll get our confirmations tomorrow!
  11. 4 stars from Slant Magazine. https://www.slantmagazine.com/music/review-lana-del-rey-norman-fucking-rockwell-eulogizes-the-american-dream/
  12. I'm still processing the album and listening on repeat before I fully post my thoughts, but it's definitely a gorgeous piece of work. I find Lana's albums really should first be listened to the same way you'd watch a film series. This album tells a beautiful story, and it's a great continuation of the story she's been telling since Born To Die. I think each of her albums have an important place in the overarching story of Lana Del Rey.
  13. Reading this thread today without listening yet is wild. Can't wait to listen tonight, got my bottle of red wine and a joint rolled. Gonna take a light night stroll once I'm finally alone and live it up.
  14. Why do people create a new thread for this topic every time she attends?
  15. If you've lived somewhere for several years and it's your home, you're a local.
  16. Ultraviolence is a masterpiece, but tbh this album already topped it once Venice Bitch dropped.
  17. I love this era tbh. It suits the themes of the music, especially the stunning mic drop that is The Greatest.
  18. Omg just watched the video twice and finally heard Fuck It I Love You for the first time. Now it's going to be stuck in my head as I lie in bed trying to fall asleep.
  19. I still can't believe there are people who think Hope is a bad song. It's devastating and gorgeous, and it's going to be a brilliant end to the album based on what we've heard so far. The Greatest really sealed the deal on that for me.
  20. Exactly. Judging an album based on the era makes no sense, they are too separate things. You can feel annoyed with the artist all you want but that has nothing to do with the music. I can imagine how frustrating it is for someone like Lana who wants to do things her own way but society has changed to the point where people expect way too much on social media. She really does belong in a different era, artists didn't have to deal with these ridiculous expectations before and they really shouldn't have to. She's releasing a ton of stuff and it's all amazing. She told us in March she didn't know when the album was coming. That alone should have been enough, but alas here we are months later finally getting the album, and people are still bitching about the "era" ruining the work. Ridiculous. I haven't listened to the leak but from everything I've heard so far it's shaping up to be her best work yet. I also find the lyrics to The Greatest help explain a lot of her behaviour, and the reactions to the era only reinforce all the criticisms she has about today's culture. If it leaks in HQ I'll listen because I already bought it, and if it doesn't then it's coming super soon. I'll just keep listening to The Greatest on repeat until then.
