  3. Exactly, and I think there's a much better chance for people to revolt and make actual change once Trump is out. Sadly these things take time, as frustrating as that is.
  4. You are absolutely right in theory, but isn't the reality of the situation that a 3rd party vote in this election will strengthen Trump's odds of winning? I agree that Biden/Harris is not the right choice to lead the country and think the American government is extremely backwards and corrupt with a severely damaged system, but I also think that Trump takes it to a whole new level and everything must be done to get him out of the White House. I personally think that step one is getting Trump out, which unfortunately in this case means Biden. And then step two is to reform the system and hopefully bring someone competent and progressive in next.

    I Talk to Jesus

The pursuit of fame is what made her leave in the past. She was happy and living a simple life in Alabama with her boyfriend who taught her about Jesus, but then she fucked up by leaving Alabama to "become someone." Now she's succeeded but she's unhappy and wants to return to the simple life in Alabama, but when she goes there none of the things she loved are there anymore, so she asks Jesus to save her and return her to a happy life.
  6. Omg she looks stunning. As if people had the nerve to try and bodyshame her.

  8. Another review: https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/reviews/lana-del-rey-poetry-book-violet-bent-backwards-over-the-grass-review-a9644606.html It's mixed, 3/5 stars.
  9. Yes! Bare Feet on Linoleum sent me straight to the Black Lodge. I'll be trapped there until Chemtrails comes to save me.

  11. I take the word "husband" to represent all of her relationships. It seems like she keeps ending up with dark, depressive people who aren't good for her in the long run, and I think she may be blending them all together and using the word husband since that type of relationship has been a consistent part of her life.
  12. Ugh these reviews suck. Like all great art, the magic will be lost on a lot of people who don't give it proper focus, or people who already have dismissed Lana before they listen.
  13. Yes exactly! The combo of the final two tracks is really stunning and thrilling, and I really think that she's deliberately placed things that way to lead into Chemtrails, especially given how mysterious she is keeping the album.
  14. I wonder how much the project has changed and evolved since she originally had it planned for release before NFR. After listening so many times, it really does feel like it was meant to come after NFR. Moments like "stupid apartment complex" wouldn't be as special without Mariner's, and the return to Sylvia Plath in Bare Feet on Linoleum is even more powerful after Hope. What she says about people who feed off of paradise seems like an introduction to themes she will explore in Chemtrails over the Country Club. Also, the super stressful ending doesn't sound like it would be leading into something like NFR. Now I expect the new album to be a lot darker than I was originally thinking. As she says, she's gone scorched earth and choosing to end on a note this dark makes me think the project is going to be a little more unhinged.
  15. In one poem she mentions watercolours of orange trees with snakes running through them, so I think the cover is a metaphor for simple things that look peaceful and beautiful but when you look closely there is darkness hiding.
  16. Right!! That line in the context of that whole track gives me chillllllls. Truly an unexpected and thrilling ending, and it makes me SO excited for Chemtrails.

  18. Wow this track is completely stunning it made me cry.
  19. OMG this was terrifying. What a brilliant ending.
  20. OMG I am truly floored. Just listened twice. Absolute masterpiece of atmosphere and storytelling. I'm pretty much speechless tbh what a compelling and unique journey she's put together, I'm so proud of her. The payoff of the last two tracks is so amazing and I am left completely unnerved by the ending. I think this definitely gives us an idea of the direction she's going with Chemtrails and also Behind the Iron Gates.
