Circumambient by Grimes Still her best song. I listened to this constantly in 2014 and honestly was one of the songs to just get me through that year in general along with all the Ultraviolence songs. I still never skip Next letter: R

The only songs that have been stuck in my head this week have been 1. The Principal 2. Show and Tell. The others I've kinda forgotten about. Even HSS which was my fave to begin with.

Smashed me. She's sounding pretty close to BANKS , not that I have any problem with that, but once someone told me they hate FKA twigs cause Banks 'invented dark rnb' -_- What's up with her new Spotify avatar tho. I shrieked. That's some Grimes shit. But ugh. Such good music coming our way I can't even take it in.

I loved the ariana cover so damn much. And I would have liked the Doin Time performance of they let her mic be louder. I liked the extra production too, kinda even more than the original, but again, they really messed up the sound. You can see her at 1:30 just looking pissed -
I watched it again last night. The first half an hour is SO good. After that was really meh tbh

I think her powers and her friends powers in the film was a metaphor for being able to see things clearly, like things happening you in the past that made you aware of hidden motives, what people's insecurities really are and patterns in society that go unnoticed or ignored by most. And then having the self awareness from it. That would explain her "transformation" at the end of Mad Hatter and then a continuation of the black eyes through K-12

Clean version of the album lmao https://open.spotify.com/album/1fogpVbSs4ontYCrY7oy2H?si=kr3NECLBSkeQCeRSF3sqPg

Valid yeah, but it's also really interesting. My favourite band started the same, making albums based on childhood and school but they progressed to adulthood and spirituality and much much more and I think Melanie will totally do the same. Real artists make it work Oh yeah fuck hahah

I feel dumb for not knowing what you mean by when she took off her disguise. And I totally agree with your criticisms. The first few songs were done so good but when there were like 3 in a row without actual scenes in between I was like, hang on, and it took me out of the story for a bit I agree with the choreo in some parts- wheels on the bus and I think it was class fight too? Or wherever the whole class was doing the same thing. And I am also not too sure about 2 more movies like this but I'm sure she'll improve because she really does take on these things

Wow Buzzcut Season just came up on Spotify reccommended and I actually love it and it's the first Lorde song I've ever listened to without hearing it on the radio etc. Can anyone kindly reccommend me more good songs. I like the dark stuff or songs that just have a really pretty sound and good production ?

Best song: Highschool Sweethearts and Show & Tell Best "music video": Same, and I think they should be singles, along with maybe Detention ,The Principal or Orange Juice Favourite moment/s in the movie: When the kindergarten teacher was snorting chalk and looked up at the security footage to see Mel and Kelly both levitating in a fight. And also when Angelita killed the science teacher. I'm still on edge about that actress but that was a good moment. What you found most surprising: That I loved The Principal, Lunchbox Friends and Detention. Anything you predicted coming true: That Recess would suck (the video, not the song)and that an extra song would be in the credits (but I think someone had proof of that anyway) Any criticisms: The start of lunchbox friends where Mel was singing at the table of the blonde girls was cringey. It would have been better if she was singing to herself while not paying attention to them, and then looking back at the table of her real friends. Also that there seemed to be no guys in the picture when Strawberry Shortcake came on. I was expecting something to connect like a guy paying her too much attention or something before the song came on. Which song you relate to most: Highschool Sweethearts actually, cause not only am I still with mine, but that song relates to me be extremely picky in friendships too and I just can't handle being in a friendship that isn't real and what I need it to be.

I know this is so extra but I'd love to see everyone's opinions answering these after seeing the movie and listening to the songs. I love reading people's thoughts, but preferably in a logical format cause I'm a virgo fucking rising : Best song: Best "music video": Favourite moment/s in the movie: What you found most surprising: Anything you predicted coming true: Any criticisms: Which song you relate to most:

Overarching story for sure but the 'music video' parts fit in different for each song I guess. At the start it was done really really well, until about Strawberry Shortcake when I was like "but nothing's even happened like this yet?" And in Highschool Sweethearts. But in the end, it doesn't bother me too much, I still loved every second! Her looks in those videos I mentioned were sort of "in her imagination" from my perspective, but done so well Also (separate post)

Her look during The Principal, Detention and HSS were sooo good I can't stop thinking about it

P.s. at the cinema I really felt like the oldest person there (23). Everyone else I saw was 14-19ish. Definitely high schoolers or fresh out of.

Fire drill did not make it to Spotify

I'm also gonna add- I kept thinking "I would have loved this so much as a kid" even though obviously I do now, but I get it. She's aiming to make an impact on her fanbase which are probably mostly still in highschool, so I congratulate her for that. It will do its job, plus has given us another amazing album full of visuals

Omg it's so cute. And my friend loved it too. There was a cute pop up outside the cinema with pink balloons where you could buy fairy floss and get a photo with a cutout of the bus in front of a pastel flower wall. I think Show and Tell, Highschool Sweethearts and even Orange Juice have the best single potential as their videos don't require context. . Especially show and tell. Have to say I enjoyed that one the most. I think I'll definitely prefer listening to the songs on their own but I'll definitely be rewatching the movie again. The ending was a little dissatisfying but I guess I kinda prefer it to the "everyone ends up happy and making up in the end" My least favorite was Recess though, and I think that made me less connected to the ending.

Who's dressing up for the movie tonight? I get to see it in 2.5 hours fuckkk The excitement just hits me the closer it gets. This is the most significant music event I've been to since seeing Evanescence Synthesis in Feb last year. And no Lana's LA to the Moon tour didn't compare to that FYI, y'all have no choice but to marathon Cry Baby before you go any further

By the way her sales and breaking records is going, do you think she really has a good chance at winning a Grammy?
