Dan Auerbach Speaks About "Ultraviolence" Label Issues
Creyk replied to Linethic's topic in Latest News
Daamn...he is in the music business, he could know that "the Adele producer" is called Rick Rubin -
Since I heard that she's been working on it for 5 years now, I'm having wet dreams about a version with BTD-type of production
-
I actually thought she was talking about the Vine that you drink, and then I was like...wait, what? You saidt you don't drink.....
-
Yeah that's what I was curious about So does she have to share the profit that comes from the song?

She said that Cruel World, Pretty When You Cry, and Old Money are her favorite tracks along with SOC being really meaningful to her. My hopes for an OM video were just multiplied by 1000 "Old money is probably one of the tracks on the record that's the most idyllic of them all. It's more based in kind of, fantastical snapshots I have of being on the corner of Hollywood and vine , like I was channeling something. It's really my oldest track on the record cuz it's, it's a song that's been in the works for about 5 years. It was called Methamphetamines at first. And what's funny is, I had to talk to my publishing company, because, I didn't know that I was referencing a melody from the original score of Romeo and Juliet from I think, the sixties. And, it was so similar that, you know half of the publishing belongs to them as well now. (what?) But obviously I was channeling something really...nostalgic. For me it's also one of my favorite tracks."

I was mainly thinking of the amount of upbeat songs. She is the sadcore queen, but then there are songs like Queen of Disaster, Ooh Baby, MMITPM....
-
I think that is what is bothering her about the leaks, actually. (other than the lack of privacy) It tarnishes her aesthetic.

OLD MONEY WHERE ARE YOU :defeated: *meltdown mode off* Well, I am happy with this too. Since Lana only wants to do an UV tour next year maybe she will actually promote this in August. She could go to SNL, Ellen, Letterman, Allan Carr, etc...please Lana make it happen. Who am I kidding. Please Ben force Lana to do promo, make it happen -
So many cool music questions....I long for the day when an interviewer asks her about the creation of Old Money
-
There are lots of leaked songs about which we just don't know where they came from though, no? Probably Ben Mawson trying to keep Lana relevant or something
-
I used to listen to it like 5-7 times a day in a row while at work, but then my co-workers started to get bored and complained So now we listen to the radio At least sometimes I hear some tropical remix of Summertime Sadness

Ultraviolence - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
Creyk replied to lflflflflflflflflflf's topic in Post-Release Threads
I used to think that I have to kept living to be able to listen to Ultraviolence, but then I realized, life only really started after I began listening to it over and over..... -
After reading this thread I realized that I barely understand the verses
-
Hmm so I guess Old Money's title just felt "right" for her as well, along with Kill Kill It's interesting

Lana Del Rey Speaks About Next Record, "Music to Watch Boys To"
Creyk replied to Linethic's topic in New Releases
This awesome new record already made her forget all about her previous work, including the ones on that Disc. Might be the reason why she is not really singing UV songs -
Oh, right! Somehow Ultraviolence [song] didn't even cross my mind when I was writing that comment, maybe because it doesn't seem dark to me, for me it's full of melancholy, like recalling sweet memories, mostly because of the bridge and the part before that. We interpret songs differently though and that's a good thing

About darkness, which songs are even really dark, - as dark as Carmen, BE, G&M - are? Old Money has sad undertones, The Other Woman is more open in the same vein, Black Beauty is kind of a downer. Sad Girl has some dark undertones, the darkest song might be Shades of Cool along with Cruel World. For example, WC and Brooklyn Baby are more light summery songs, MPG is kind of quirky, FMWUTTT is more about being mean. It's good that Lana has produced an overall more ligh-hearted body of work, maybe it's a reflection that she is at least a bit happier than before her fame days.

Lana gasped from the sight and slowly approached that phallic monster....

Isn't there some obscure rap song titled "I wanna fuck Lana Del Rey"
