  1. I seriously need to know her time-traveling secrets because I'm waiting for West Coast to drop watching her new post.
  2. absolutely nothing besides a Lana show with the typical setlist. It was her last scheduled show of the year, so there was speculation she was going to announce album details, new single, etc.
  3. If she just does a 15-second acapella version of Love while smoking a cigarette ("here's a little something new for you guys..." *takes drag* "to be young and in loooooove" *another drag* "okay, that's enough. This next one's called Lolita").
  4. I somehow completely misread this thread title as "Lana and Miles Kane at Chuck E. Cheese possibly filming new music video" and immediately had an attack of horrible dread, as well as a deep curiosity for what that would look like exactly.
  5. This update was honestly more important to my essential functioning than I realized.
  6. I too am excited for Depressing Soda Fountain. I am sure it will be so great and won't at all sound like the musical equivalent of Tumblr having an orgasm.
  7. If anyone wants to take a break from discussing/arguing if Chuck is f ucking up an unconfirmed Lana project, here's a new article Billboard wrote about Lana http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7710162/lana-del-rey-lyrics-songs-prove-step-ahead-haters
  8. Based on the title, I'm getting strong vibes this is going to be the era her fans will never bring up in the future.
  9. They watched High By The Beach and took notes.
  10. The thought of Lana going indie kind of scares me. Lana puts her heart and soul and vision into her records, but she seems done with them the minute they get mastered, which is understandable, but not good for promotion. If she goes indie, the most we could hope for would be two or three 30-second Instagram clips of her dancing in her kitchen to the new songs and one random festival date in Switzerland or something, where 90% of the setlist is from Born To Die. I think what Lana needs is a TEAM of people (not just Ben) who not only give a f uck about her music, but who have a precise understanding of how the changing music industry works and know how to market HER as an artist. Right now is kind of a crossroad because it is pretty clear that Lana does not enjoy extensive travel or promo, and the last two records she made were not exactly radio friendly (or at least not as much as BTD), so labels are less likely to invest in a lot of promotion, but if they continue down that path, it's just going to be a cycle of her getting less exposure, and the labels having less money to invest in her the next time around. She is a unique artist and I wish they would capitalize/work with this more than they do. I know it didn't really go over that well, but I still like the idea (though maybe not the actual execution) of the Honeymoon hotline. Or what Frank Ocean did with pop up shops, or Katy Perry's listening stations. Something that is still mysterious and a little different from normal marketing strategies, but draws more attention to the new release and gives fans a way to connect further with her. If her team could figure out ways to integrate her personality and preferences into the marketing (something that brings some exposure without her having to be there all the time or leave the house even), it could possibly help turn things around a bit. Another idea could be if Lana was willing to invest her own money into the videos and photo shoots (if she doesn't do this already, but I'm assuming she doesn't), that could give her her team a wider budget to work with for marketing. Though that may not work, because I could quickly see Lana reverting back to her Lizzy Grant/VG and original Blue Jeans-style of videos, which isn't bad, but I want to see her grow. Okay sorry, I'm going on a rant now.

  12. *makes a random live stream at 2 in the morning California time* "Hi kids, here's my new album. It's on Apple Music. You're going to love it. It's a lot like Born to Die. My favorite track is the jazz one. Okay, lots of love." *blows a kiss and waves before pointing the camera up to the ceiling for the next 30 seconds while the faint sound of an Elon Musk lecture plays in the background* *Camera turns off and we do not hear from her for the next three years except when she hangs out with Father John Misty and/or spots a spider in her home*
  13. I caved in and listened and am feeling very conflicted about the song. I'm getting the same vibe I got when I listened to the final version of Love--it's nice, I like the vibe and Lana branching off into slightly new territory, but there is something that just feels like it is still in the warmup/demo stage. The verses (especially the opening) are beautiful and I don't want them to do anything to that, but there is something about the chorus and outro (as well as the transitions) that doesn't quite click. I hate to say I want this to be more of a bop, because "slow" lana can be just as good as "fast" lana, but this song in particular, based on the structure, feels like it wants to go a little harder/faster in the chorus. The beat drop especially throws me off, because the drop kind of indicates we are moving away from the vibe of the verses and exploring harder/faster territory, but Lana's vocals and the production in the chorus sounds just too soft and mellow to really justify that excitement and false promise that comes from the drop. It's like the equivalent of driving slowly and calmly, then revving up the engine only to go just 10 mph faster, before dropping the speed back down to its original place. It doesn't offer that same rush when holding back. I'll keep listening, though, because perhaps there are things that I'm not picking up on yet, but these are my initial impressions based on a couple of listens.
  14. i miss this side of her, but she would get so much s hit if she made a Katy post like that today.
  15. I'll always love her 2012 looks. And her 2014 Ultraviolence look, because of the contrast.
  16. Lana, if you're reading this, thank you for everything you've created. You have no idea how much it's meant.

  18. No, they ended things in November 2015. And unless they have both been secretly meeting, it seems safe to say that they haven't gotten back together. I'm kind of glad they ended it. Their relationship always seemed like more of an extended summer fling to me rather than something that could work out long term.

    Lorde

Is she singing "come get my things/but I can't let go/I'm here to party"? "I want your body"? Something else? She sounds a lot more emotional/expressive in the snippet than literally anything I have ever heard her sing on, so it seems it will be a change of tone at least. Not sure about the actual song. Kind of getting Adele 25 + Calvin Harris vibes from this.
  20. Is it just me or does she look like she came straight out of Tropico from that snippet? Especially GAM.
  21. The broom pic makes me nervous. If the video comes back and it's just her friends riding a broom like a horse in their driveway and yelling, "I'm a witch! Hocus pocus!", I'm going to lose it.
