I can't imagine her changing that much, but the exterior is certainly part of a character--she even admitted to it, with some reply on twitter that I can't find that says something like "at least I created it". The more exposure she gets, the more I think she's opening up. The Ride video personally gave me a lot of insight. Most of her actions so far seem to be driven by equal parts of mental vulnerability (depression, addiction), love, and ambition.

I just think you guys try too much ;/ She is just a person, she writes about what she wants and we don't need to over analyze everything she does. She changed her style several times, and what? It would be so boring if she continued to do only AKA stuff. I hope she continues to evolve.

i think lana del rey, lizzy grant etc. are all personae. lizzy grant may be her real name but she was still creating an image for that name. i think that's why she changed her name, she wanted to start from scratch and created ~*~lana del rey~*~. it's like a work of art to her, creating an image. i'm sure she's spent tons of time in front of the mirror practising her pout and the other poses she does, shes not really that good at staying in character (here for example:
) though. i'm also sure she practises the answers she gives in interviews, the stuff about "making her life a work of art" and stuff like that.
 
lots of people do it, kurt cobain practised the way he'd shrug his shoulders in interviews and he rehearsed answers he'd give in interviews. he cared a lot about people not thinking he cared. he'd complain about "smells like teen spirit" being played too much but would complain to his management when he thought it wasn't being played enough etc. etc.
 
they just want(ed) to make sure that people see them the way they want them to see them.

This song literally brought tears to my eyes. It's so beautiful, especially the "Dear lord when I get to heaven please let me bring my man, when he comes tell me that you'll let him in, Father tell me if you can" part! SHIVERS!!! And then followed by "Oh that grace, oh that body, oh that face makes me wanna party" - that VOICE of hers, oh my god. It's just so goddamn brilliant. I had really high hopes after that beautiful, beautiful snippet, and i'm not the least bit disappointed, definitely one of my all time favorite Lana songs! 

To all the people complaining about how terrible the song sounded in the trailer.

I love it, finally a "happy" carefree song. It gives me a strong Lizzy Grant vibe, maybe because of the lack of (drama) strings and the way she sings, in a higher pitched voice.

i wasn't being extreme, i was being honest. people don't know the impact of society's ideals. there's nothing wrong with a dress code for a work place, but i was right about women not being hired if they don't wear makeup even if they are suitable applicants. and i'm sorry, but you don't know what it's like to have low self esteem ALL of the time - it's horrible, it drags you down, it stops you having a good quality of life (having no confidence is HORRIBLE). if the world wasn't such a shallow place - people wouldn't feel so fucking low all of the time. this vogue crap is a fantasy, your average woman doesn't look like that - they're all fucking photoshopped. it wouldn't be so bad if they showed a woman with a zit or whatever.

I think it's gonna be big. This movie is huge, this song will get a lot of response.
From the snippets and such so far, I love it, and I think it's one of my favorites by Lana!
I can't wait. The music vid/song can't come fast enough!
