i don't think the uk is better than the us or that the us is better than the uk. i think they're both cool, i have english and american blood so i love both places.

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! she's said it in a few interviews, just a few little things that have gave the impression she doesn't like it here at all    I'll try and find some now, I'm sure someone else better at these things can help more,  but I'll try

    Do you underestimate yourself?
Why should I? Just because some American journalists can not stand me? My album is a multi-million-seller. I've even won several awards. Only in my own country, the United States, the inspiration of all my songs, you know, unfortunately, not to deal with me. That's why I'm there and moved away and now live in London.

The interview doesn't talk about anything new, other than her fondess of Europe and the audience: "They seemed supportive after all the critics. It gave me hope. People are different here and in Australia. In USA people are..."

    "What?"

    "No, I won't tell."

I'm just happy that no one really flipped out and actually started arguing. Because we can go into statistics about each country and city in the US and UK but the bottom line is, it's Lana. She'll still be as creative as ever no matter where she lives.

People were somewhat shocked when I mentioned in a previous post that I was thirsty for new music. Well, thank god Lana is already working on the next album! lol. I loved Born to Die and Paradise, and have played them over and over. It just leaves me wanting more! This is great news!

She just seemed so sincere and emotional when she said this. It actually had some sort of depressing effect on me, ngl.

Really? You wouldn't find it all interesting if you found out that Lana had actually been involved with someone sentenced to death row for double homicide, or at least understand why other people would? I do get where you're coming from as far as finding the fixation on this one question excessive, but I think K is really a proxy for untangling the web of mystery Lana has woven around herself, intentionally or not, about whether she really is singing about loves lost to death or incarceration and was involved in any of the sorts of trouble she alludes to but never fully reveals in her lyrics and interviews, or whether she is merely making up stories about her life as she sings in "Prom Song (Gone Wrong)".

Well, kids have probably seen it 1000x on the street anyway by complete strangers. It's down to parents to set examples to their kids - not Lana Del Rey (or any other celebrity). If David Bowie can smoke on stage, Lana Del Rey can too.

This thread is amazing. The kind of analysis going on here rivals what I'm doing for my degree!

It's incredibly interesting to read all the different interpretations. I guess one of the lovable things about Lana is that she is so open to interpretation. I have to admit, I find myself dying to be able to answer all the K questions and it's great to read all these theories.

Lana always did say that alcohol was the first love of her life, and to be honest I think that reflects in a lot of her music. It shows the love affair and the consequences that spiraled from it. It's not hard to make that connection so I love that you guys have pieced together all the other info, it's like reading a novel!

I just hope she hasn't completely given up on the US, it's not full of haters.

Chuck is so pretty, makes even Lizzy look homely at times.

Also here for MANY Mermaid Motel videos. That reminds me--who the hell is the guy in the "Carmen" video?

It's just a short film Lana was featured in.

The intro of million dollar man:
"You said I was the most exotic flowah"

The scarlet starlet in off to the races - I just love the way her voice pitch at the top.

"Kissing my fruit punch lips in the bright sunshine" in Lolita.

Her breathy voice in American "Like an American".

I absolutely love the "only seventeen, but she walks the street so mean" in Carmen.

Mmm... and the southern drawl in the "kitty cat" part of Queen of the Gas Station.

The "a sway of the hips" part in oh say can you see absolutely slays me every goddamn time

    In Paradise when she's like
    DOPE
    THAT'S SICK

her gangsta talk is just toooooo funny.

The kettle whistle right as the Born To Die chorus kicks in. Amazing. Also, "like i told you honey" line.

The string outro to Off To The Races.

The last minute of Yayo from her Nevada album. Even though it's not my fav song from the album, it is the best produced thing on it. The inflictions in the music near the end is subtle but really incredible.

    "Savior-AH!" in Kinda Outta Luck.

The last minute of Hundred Dollar Bill when she's just ad libbing all "oh ah oh ah oooooh, yeah yeah he yeah yeah" ect.

This Is What Makes Us Girls, album version, the hip hop outro, dayum!

This Is What Makes Us Girls, demo version, the outro where she continues singing them ad libs till the song fades, wish that was kept on the album version over the hip hop beat.

National Anthem, the whole bridge! "dark and lonely i need somebody to hold me!!!!!"

Without You, the whole bridge and the way the beat changes!

Pawn Shop Blues, right before the song ends, those couple of high pitched guitar strings that finish off the track. Such a tiny moment, but i love it.

Velvet Crowbar, the way she sings the chorus, especially the line 'you're like crack to me". She also sings the chorus twice in a row each time, on the the second time she sings it a bit harder and her voice sounds slightly raspy, love that.

Dark Paradise. The string intro, so beautiful, then with her vocals coming in and soon the heavy bass beat, oh wow!

Summertime Sadness, "2, 3, 4, kiss me hard before you go"!

Million Dollar Man, when she does the bridge live and she's all "doooo da da oohowah wooowah he heeee", very jazzy, should have been in the album version.

brings me to tears she sounds so angelic. i loved those three nights idk i think her performance live was the best.
the end of million dollar man when she says "so why is my heart broke ? i don't know.."

    body electric in hackney.

(and almost all of her pre-lana songs, they just have a different vibe that i love)

oh and the demo of diet mtn dew the verse which she says "hit me my darling tonight, i dont know why but i like it.."
