LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships
SunsetTwist replied to Sitar's topic in Lana Thoughts
okay this is where i'm completely having a WHAT?! moment. of what's leaked, what falls under that category? i was completely unaware that there were tracks that close to home (for her) that got out. -
fergie the solo artist is great, the dutchess is a solid album *re dls pedestal and velvet*

don't get me wrong, i think she has a great talent and i was a huge supporter of hers from the moment i heard 212 for the first time last year. but with everything she's said from around her first feud with ph (as much as he is scum and deserves to be taken down several pegs) i can't condone her. i loved when she was coming for all the misogynists in the game who were weighing her down with their double standards, but i've just gone thru too much in my life to not be hurt by her inability to recognize her wrong doings and still expect my $/support. luckily the stuff she's released recently has failed to impress me so it hasn't been hard to not dl any of it, but i trashed her ep/mixtape/etc

Lana Del Rey and Barrie James O'Neill Duet: "SUMMER WINE"
SunsetTwist replied to Hundred Dollar Bill's topic in New Releases
do you guys think any of this footage was shot during the dreamland sessions? the individual lana footage, anyway? -
she needs to bring this back imo

Lana Del Rey and Barrie James O'Neill Duet: "SUMMER WINE"

one of my favorite songs, she's trying to kill me. this was my first time hearing barrie and his voice suits the duet well imo! -
i never understood all the hate for ghost, that seems to be people's least fave a lot of the time but i think it's my favorite. it's a tossup between that and eie.
-
those 3 make the most sense to be on the album, altho i wouldn't be surprised if they gave eie bonus track treatment or something. i just don't know why i can't see it being part of the main tracklist being so diff from what she's promising sonically. she doesn't seem very behind red lips anymore, i think she got really discouraged by how many people shrugged it off as garbage-lite. and lost in my bedroom is totally out of sync with ariel/jon's production.

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
SunsetTwist replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
i knew about the stuff before what you quoted, but hadn't read the quote from kickdrums before so thanks for that! hopefully we'll hear her original someday, personally as much as i love a$ap i feel he's so much better than his contributions to that track. also i'll forever be confused over the title of that song because i know it was called ridin' pre-leak and most people call it that now, but the day it leaked a$ap was interviewed and said the title had been changed from ridin' to my bitch so that's how i tagged it in itunes... mess :airplease: -
it's never too late to get into a fanbase, i can't stand people who approach things with the mentality that they're better bc they've been keen to something longer than someone else. sky's a great talent and she deserves more recognition, so the bigger the fanbase the better! ^_^ ik eie is the most buzzed about song from ghost, but considering the fact that it sounds nothing like the rest of the album (half ariel/half jon-produced as she's said time and time again) i would've leaned more toward sad dream being the one to make the album. or did i miss her saying it was definitely the former? not only does sd indicate 50% of the album's sound, but it seems to be the most important track to her of the five on the ep.

yes!!! i've seen them live 2x and they're great, i have to say for the most part i prefer them live to studio recordings but bones is my fave. i don't get the lana comparison at all. i need this studio version:

Minor General Questions that Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
SunsetTwist replied to Monicker's topic in Lana Thoughts
i hope this is the right place for this, if it isn't my apologies! i was wondering if any of you super sleuths had any insight to the track that lana's verses for her shelved collab with a$ap were lifted from? iirc the kickdrums stated in an interview that those verses were pre-existing, and that rocky came in and added his verses... i could be wrong, i read so much and it gets blurred. i also thought that i had read a rumor that the rest of lana's original song was pretty raunchy/she has another rap-type track in that vein that is raunchy... lol this is a mess sorry -
i still need to listen to this, i luv sacrilege sfm idk if anything will ever top show your bones for me though
-
reading this i definitely see things differently. i feel kinda harsh with what i said before =x i didn't really consider how many people still do not explore mixtapes/online leaks even in 2013, so in that respect the fact that she was able to collect what she considered the best of it all and make an album that is garnering acclaim from both the public and critics is something to celebrate <3

adore charli, but to all the people who are praising this album: did you not listen to anything of hers apart from the official singles beforehand? or are you just marveling over the sequencing/selection of all these previously released tracks and the 1? 2? new tracks? her calling this album her baby and saying how much went into it kind of baffles me because she's put all this stuff out there in some form previously, the hard part's been done for her for some time...

letterman has always grossed me out, she handled him well and looked cute doing it. i just hope that those fillers haven't pushed her face past the point of no return </3
