So last night I couldn't sleep and this happened

    MUSIC TO WATCH BOYS TO

Ever since I heard the title ''Music To Watch Boys To'' I had this summery blonde Lana in mind, Brigitte Bardot-styled.
I'm really proud of this, love how it turned

    Tell me what you think

Decided to share this quick sketch I made of my favourite Lana pic ever

Since it was easier than I thought I wanna redo it and then frame it and hang it in my room

Some moar artwork from the 'Dark & Unlistenable' series ( )

I made this one in the style of the FMWUTTT one since the two are linked somehow imo
I mean they're two songs that stand out for being quite different from the rest of the album.

My first two incursions into digitizing my own handwriting! (well besides the 'Jersey Shore 19--' in the OM one lel)

Whatever, I really like how these turned out, hope you guys like them as well

I wanted to put together the three others I had in mind but I just finished this one and really like how it turned. Blue Hydrangeas, so original I know but I love them so I had to put them in. Hope you guys like it

    Hey

Have someone take pics of you when you don't expect it (mid-sentence, relaxed, sun-in-your-face...)

She doesn't get to "untag " herself from the Internet.

Don't worry. K is Lana fandom's holy grail. I hope we never find out, because the mystery is more interesting than us being able to say 'oh, he's Ken Jones from Pennsylvania', followed by a million comments about him being not as hot as we imagined.

I really like the sound of the snippet.
I hope it will be a piece that feels .. "complete" again.
You know, many songs on UV and the Big Eyes soundtrack songs had the feeling like there was just something missing .. lyrically. Like, not many lyrics or at least in such a repetitive way that it almost left you feel like you only scratched on a subject. Best examples for this are FMWUTTT and Big Eyes.
Don't get me wrong, I love Ultraviolence as a record but I really would like to hear a song with a more "classic" construct again, ala BtD.
The snippet sounds promising, let's see what we get.

    delicious

but tbh i doubt this was meant for any of her music. despite being dark and violent and 'wrong' it just doesn't match with any of her music ~aesthetically. its too... "ugly" without any hint of glamour or irony. seems like more of an eli roth kind of thing. wasn't there a picture of them at a party together? they probably just met randomly and he was like oh yea 1). you'd look good getting raped on camera and 2). i'd really like to get on top of you

We still don't know how they got to this scene bc we still do not have the full vid, so, I wouldn't do conclusions

I love your thoughts and quite agree.

Regarding the comparison with Cat Power by some of you here: Oh dear, I could write an essay discussing Lana's true poetic talent (failed English major here) and why she is a brilliant songwriter but I am too tired now.
Lana is as good as Chan, as a matter of fact, her vision is much bolder. I have been a CP fan since the nineties, way before Cat Power went worldwide famous and still was an indie act singing deep sad songs. Watched her live twice. Not following her as I did then anymore...

Lana is not inferior to any songwriter out there, she can write beautiful poetry in music form, her aesthetics also are part of the whole vision. Plus, the recurring themes are genius!

Give our girl a couple of decades and she will go down in Music History as one of the greats, one of the best American songwriters.

Yeah, I am such a fangirl and not ashamed. I worship Lana Del Rey!

I think Lana has so many songs lyrically strong to put her in the same categorie as a musician like Cat Power. Her lyrics have this cinematographic quality, like she can capture through words her whole world. Her lyrics are like a bunch of footage vintage clips put together in her videos: they're separately different but when you put in perspective there's a sense that transform those images in something more.

I love the songs on BtD everyone else hates, specifically Diet Mountain Dew and Dark Paradise. Dark Paradise has made me cry before.

So... since women are quite feminine themselves, I guess if you are attracted to them, that means you're gay.

Well i found this account on instagram, you should check him out he has an incredible work! Lana's new icon seems more computerized than his drawing but from what i've seen he made the drawing.

Also this flawless fanmade Tropico edit by the ultra-talented set to the iconic "Cola". I know y'all are going to drag me for this but I still think that they should've taken the opportunity to score a hit for Lana and promote Tropico at the same time with a video like this.

Anachronisms can be very significant motifs in film. Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette embodied this brilliantly and utilized the modern music and speech to portray MA as a relatable, everyday girl trapped in an extraordinary environment. AHS is probably attempting to use music in order to represent those outcasted by society and deemed "freaks" for simply being different. Hence David Bowie, Lana Del Rey, Fiona Apple, etc.

One other thing... I don't think she knows who she really is and that's why it's hard for us her fan and for other people (I include haters) to understand her. That's why she incites so many feelings and passion. A lot of people say she's not authentic. There's no full integrity, that's bullshit. Often we are not so true to ourselves and we say what people want to hear. Personally I find her pretty authentic, in a sense that she is very transparent about her feelings. They are mixed and she has dualities, but she has the courage to expose it and that makes her a wonderful artist. A whole artist.

Like when she feels bad during a show, you know it. She might say "I'm so happy to be here", but pay attention to her tone and her face and you'll know the truth. Or she might be "happy to be here", but still annoyed by other things in her life and she's not gonna pretend all smile that everything is perfect. She exposes her weaknesses, her vulnerability in her lyrics, in her voice, in her interviews. She might seem fucked up for some people, but to me she's simply an authentic confused and scared little girl, but very strong woman at the same time. I love her with all my heart.
