I’m not saying you guys are wrong, but I think it’s important to not speculate on things too far and treat them as facts until we’ve gotten more news about what happened and how it could’ve happened.

I highly doubt that this is some “tactic” from Lana to not say anything about the album. Anyone who has seen the videos of the explosion must’ve felt something or they’re heartless. They were absolutely terrifying. If it hadn’t had happened, she would’ve still kept silent or tweeted or made an Instagram post about something different.

LanaBoards was there for me when I felt down and high, and I’ve found some people I consider to be my best friends here. I love this website.

I gave their first album a listen but it felt a bit abstract, it sounded to me like all the songs were remixes. They sounded nice but I couldn’t get a grip of them. So I put on Women in music pt III instead and I like it a lot more!

I listened to it all last night, will go for a second (or third?) round now, but wooooowwww it was a lot better than I thought! And some of them sounded pretty spooky! I truly enjoyed listening to this, can't wait to read the book as well and try to understand her thoughts. Now I just need to make up my mind if I should get the cream white vinyl or the green one, haha..!

Ok, pure speculation here but: Lana was an alcoholic in her teens. Maybe Patty, her mom, had heard that it's important to change the environment of addicts and proposed that they'd send her to boarding school. Maybe her mom was more persistent on the idea that it was the best thing for her daughter and Lana couldn't forgive her for sending her away. "Can I come home now?" "No." There's maybe some deeper things going on too. Maybe my mind is spiraling and is making up a fan fiction story, I dunno. Or maybe it's just "Can I come home now?" as in desperately wanting a comforting place to live. I'll stop now lol.

Wait, maybe "can I come home now?" is just to show her desperation for a home? She's described herself as a "chameleon soul", mentioned that she tried to find her people but never did, she moved to LA but didn't feel like she belonged there at first... Maybe she's still trying to fit in and find a place where she's accepted, find people who care for her.

I didn't think of U2 songs but you're right, they definitely have a similarity there in what they're trying to say with their lines.
