There’s this sort of production value to Lana and Jacks tracks that adds an organic feel to it. Throughout the album I felt like HTD, California, CG, HIAB, and HIADT had some unbalanced production from the arrangement of beats to the way her vocals were put together. But i like it. It adds an additional intimate feeling knowing that only Jack, Lana, and Laura had a majority hand of creating the album. Dan does have amazing skills, i agree better than Rick, but Jacks synths create a whole new atmosphere. Afraid, Hanging Around, Angels Forever, Flipside.

Am I missing something......? maybe I’m speaking too soon and need to wait on more details but... who’s going to want to watch a Netflix series on Nasty Cherry? Like... a Netflix series on charli xcx maybe, but I feel like Nasty Cherry has about 17 fans. I’m sure I’ll still watch to see how charli is involved but I- hmm idk

Danny and her did an hour long special listening to and explaining the album today. Side A is getting lower and lower into fear and shame and loneliness etc etc; Insomnia is the lowest point of them all. Then she reaches the highest point again in Parachute after climbing and climbing through side B

I still haven't forgiven her for not releasing True Romance and Goodbye 

i'm hoping the NFR acclaim will encourage lana to put the effort into some glam high budget videos for WHF

I’m only two listens in, but this didn’t SMACK me in the face like I expected. It’s a lot more ambient and left-field than the singles made it seem like it would be. I’m really enjoying it though and I think it will continue to shine with repeated listens. Caroline did that!

the jimmy kimmel performance was iconic in every sense of the word. the set, the hair, the xcx jeans...the fact that she performed an unreleased song on tv and then locked it up forever is criminal

That’s kind of what I was missing from Charli too, her colourful/bratty pop vocals. I’m glad she got a chance to purge the emotions and feelings she had with this album and the album does have some bops but I feel like with taxi/earlier songs she just wanted to write a fun pop song without the need of it being taken seriously, it’s just fun and it knows that and she’s unapologetic in that with how she delivers the vocals. But then again the songs are like 3/4 years old so it doesn’t surprise me if she wants to move completely move on past that sound now/grown past it )’ :
