  1. I'm lucky that she's not dragging stuff out forever. I mean, I'm glad to be getting Chemtrails just now, but the record was literally done one year ago, almost all of the songs even dating back to 2019. So why wait that much? If she has stuff ready, I'd be more than happy if she put it out, instead of throwing all of her 2 years work together into an incoherent album like she did with Lust For Life. If everything she made could be released, that'd be a dream. I'm almost sure the album will have several songs about QTFC though, but maybe that'll come with a new sound. I don't think she'd go exclusively country to address those topics. I definitely see something more rock-oriented.
  2. omg it's very likely Dealer is going to be on it, isn't it? since it seems to be more angry, rock-oriented, and the songs that are on it must have been made around the same time as Dealer I guess, and also she reused BAR and Yosemite, the only outtakes she spoke about Lana doing the leakers' work releasing Dealer on her own terms
  3. one detail that i love so much is how she keeps using her low voice at the very end of Yosemite when she sings 'the right reasons' when normally she would go higher, for like one second. it's really beautiful. it reminds me of the way she would harmonise over 13 Beaches using a lower register than the background vocals in her 2017 live performances. It also anchors the song in the lust for life era, because that one subtle melodic variation at the end of the last chorus is something she also does in Love
  4. it's the way White Dress has the chaotic, utterly sad tone of Fine China and the heartbreaking retrospectiveness of I Talk To Jesus at the same time for me
  5. I'm a bit underwhelmed by some of the other tracks but I did not expect Yosemite to sound this beautiful. It's really outstanding. Yosemite, White Dress and Tulsa Jesus Freak are top 15 songs for me.
  6. I'm really curious as to the outtakes for this record. Maybe some got left out because they would've been detrimental to the cohesiveness of the album, such as Dealer. Since all the tracks we got were made before March 2020, I'm really curious!
  7. White Dress is.... something else. It's got so much depth. Despite its sadness, it also has a serene, warm outlook on things. I love it so much. I did not expect her to sing that way, but it's just so good. I honestly think all of the songs are good, although I had higher expectations for Wanderlust. LMLYLAW is definitely the worst song, by far. But the album is so cohesive and contemplative, it expresses so much.
  8. I get that but it's just closer to the truth to say that she released one album every 2 years, especially since 2015. only in 2014-2015 did she release 2 albums in a row. then there's the debate of whether or not you count Paradise in, but if you do, it's more accurate to say she put out 7 albums in 11 years, since Born To Die took 2 years to be made - as well - and we're just getting Chemtrails now which means at least a year without a record is to come, so it kinda falsifies the statistics to start the timeline just before an album gets released and to stop it right after another drops anyways I know I'm making a big deal out of this but it just rubbed me the wrong way because what she did do the 3 last eras is announce the album too early and then delay it (but i agree that we're lucky to get that many albums from her)
  9. it's a very relevant statement but the 1 disk per year thing is flat out wrong though.... she hasn't published anything in 2013, 2016, 2018 and 2020 and those one-year-long pre-release eras led to the messiness we're familiar with
  10. Unpopular opinion but I'm not fond of the 'pre-changes LFL' myth. I'm not sure, but I think - from some of the interviews at the time I guess - that Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, 13 Beaches, Beautiful People, GBA and When The World were recorded in 2016, and yet they are part of the songs people don't like and never include on those 'pre-changes LFL' tracklists. Although they were on it. I agree it's not her best album, but in the end, we got it in its final state - with the 2017 songs we would never have had otherwise - AND we got some of the demos and outtakes from leaks or later releases. Part of the songs that fans do like were made in 2017 too - White Mustang, Cherry, Tomorrow Never Came - and they truly aren't the worst on the album. So, just my two cents, if you don't like LFL, you probably wouldn't have liked the LFL version that was set for April-May 2017 either. And about the horror-movie-sounds in Something Real, well, I think we'd be disappointed if we got to hear the whole thing. The only person that confirmed that was Eclipse, and his depiction of White Dress and Chemtrails proved not to be the way the fans ended up viewing the songs.
  11. how nice it is to still have one's first listen ahead of one i'm always tempted to listen and the first day was terrible but that's such a comforting thought
  12. the way it's somehow easier to wait for the album now that it has leaked? not that i heard it, but just, before it leaked, we were all tense and there was so much apprehension, and now that it's out it's a bit like it can't change anymore? like either you make the choice to listen or you don't but either way you don't really care if white dress gets released or something
  13. Acrylic Bible and Catechize Me were written off once more... she's such a coward for avoiding the controversy
  14. why do you feel that way? i think she likes her songs with nikki a lot and it shows, and that she had more songs recorded for chemtrails (well, we know about dealer, but we also know that all songs that made the cut were made before March 2020, and I think she made some songs between March and October) but chose to keep breaking up slowly because she felt it belonged on the record
  15. i'm in the same situation but i think it's because i feel like the era is already over and maybe that's for the best? she said she wanted it to be about the music and that's something i agree with, although i like it when she puts effort into hyping up the album
  16. the way i'm still counting down and 8 days seem like a lot but the more time passes where you have resisted playing it, the easier it gets i can't wait to join you guys on the other side but i really want to keep my plan for March 19 up and also I don't have my headphones for another five days so there'd be no use in playing it
  17. me having not heard the album with, by my side, actually no one because everybody's in chemtrails heaven already
  18. yeah I fully agree with the fact that women's contributions aren't acknowledged the way they should be. I just said he composed the songs because he's the only person credited as composer, and I thought that meant he had composed the entirety of the melody no hard feelings
  19. oh i'm sorry i genuinely thought he was the composer? i remember at some point we found a file that said 'composer: jack antonoff' for every song except for yosemite which was composed by Lana and that got us all excited? but maybe i'm wrong im sorry if i was being unintentionally misogynistic though that's really something i don't condone!!
