I’m getting really excited for the new songs. I think they’re going to be deep, reflective, but still fun and fresh. This album already feels like it’s going to be career album. Chemtrails felt more like Honeymoon in that it was intimately personal and almost read like a vanity project that existed solely in Lana’s innermost mind. And those records are necessary as they complement Lana’s “bigger” records that extend beyond her own world (I love all her records and they all serve a purpose) - But I feel like this album - like Norman Fucking Rockwell! or Born to Die - will be one that paints Lana in a bit of a new light and offers a different perspective from her while not straying too far away from her classic output. It’s gonna be good ?

Most of Lana’s discography could be considered “ballads” and (while I love Jack’s production) I don’t think the new songs will be as stripped-back as his work with Lana. I know you love Carmen and that song could be considered a ballad (even with its beats) so don’t worry! <3

Maybe all 3 songs tell different parts of her story that she’ll explore in the album? Like BB is her love life, and then TB and WW will explore her career? So all 3 are meant to serve as a preamble for the record?

I’m so glad I’m done law school because while the Chemtrails pre-release was legendary and so much fun, it was a lot to keep up with as I was trying to graduate I’m so excited and grateful that we’re getting new music so quickly after we got a full album

I think it is! For the last few single releases, she’s put the video out at the same time (LMLYLAW, Summertime, COTCC, and WD) so hopefully it’s the same situation this time around! Since she teased the BB video, we know that we’re definitely going to see that. I’m not sure if she recorded videos for WW and TB but I hope she did, so that we get a trilogy of videos!

Seconding @Hydroponic Weeds, I don’t know if she was fronting about July either. It seems that Gabe Simon is heavily involved with this album. They met in October 2020 in Nashville, so I bet most of the album was laid down with him in late 2020. Mike Dean has probably just been adding that extra oomph to the songs for the last few months. Obviously the album has been mastered, as insiders got their hands on it, just like how they had COTCC in September when it was mastered. I think it’s coming sooner than we think! And if not, then oh well, LOL, we can just enjoy the pre-release a bit longer - not to mention, we did just get a beautiful 11 track album so the fact that we’re even getting 3 new songs on Thursday is a blessing.
