  1. I thought about it and I wonder if these arbitrary release dates of June 1st and July 4th were just another form of self-parody like the “album cover” to generate conversation around the album. (Based on what Mike said about them not having finished anything, I’m not so sure about July 4th, and I think Lana usually knows whether or not she’ll have an album ready in time, especially when it’s this close). These release dates obviously keep us hooked on the album and while it may seem arduous on the surface, you have to admit that we’re always on this site, in this very thread.
  2. This is where stoics have an edge on Lipsters
  3. I think it’s so funny that in a span of 5 days, Lana announces an album after already announcing one with a different title, a producer reposts that announcement, insiders reveal their access to songs on said album, insiders characterize said album as “super unexpected” and disclose info, fans theorize things based on said info, insiders deny all theories based on their info, thus refuting any leads fans had on this album, the rumoured producer then confirms his involvement with Lana, but then possibly suggests that it’s not for the album pertaining to Lana’s announcement, which he reposted....and we’re all just living for it!
  4. The way Mike confirmed his involvement with Lana made it seem like it was something more than just additional production/synths in the background of a track - I feel like he did a lot of the heavy lifting on BB, and only additional contributions will come from Jack and/or Zach. Plus, he reposted her album announcement to his IG stories, which kind of indicates it’s an album of his work too! And maybe he’s doing more with her too!
  5. Actually I think the shower scenes were filmed with the rest of the COTCC video in late August! The hairstyle in the video is kind of like a low, middle-part updo compared to the side-part updo from the Bodega Bae selfie, and here I go again with the nails LOL but at the time of the Bodega Bae selfie (September 24th 2020) her nails were pink, whereas in the COTCC video, they’re red! Hopefully we get to see whatever project that look was for!
  6. I think BoZ just specified that “rock candy sweet” is now only a lyric on the album and that the ALBUM itself is unexpected and that he’s here for it.
  7. Omg all these insiders and not me mixing them up...
  8. Is the scrobble guy different from BlackoutZone? No, right? Because that profile picture is a photo of Lana from the 2015 Vogue Turkey shoot, and BoZ's twitter is a selfie of a man (who I'm assuming is him) so I'm guessing it's fake?
  9. Do you mean the Eric Lloyd Wright house shoot? (this place) If so, that was for COTCC, the alternative cover and various images by Neil Krug were shot there!
  10. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd is one of my favourite songs of all time and after listening to Mike Dean’s album, I really feel like this style of guitar solo paired with rich, orchestral instrumentation is perfect. It totally feels like it could be a natural collaboration between Lana and Mike.
  11. Also, not that I think it’s the unreleased song that allegedly made the album, but Playground really resonates with a lot of things she’s said in the last year. Hip-hop is all about having a narrative and she essentially raps in the verses of that song, which is interesting since she’s been talking about writing her own story and being the only one who can tell it. Just something interesting I noticed!
  12. I think it’s so funny that we got excited about a double album and then literally less than 24 hours later it gets debunked we never learn I think we expected this album to be “different” from the start, anyways. I don’t think we needed an insider to tell us that, respectfully. The ambiguity of information that seems to refute itself doesn’t really tell us anything so I think in reality, we have no new leads other than the fact that “rock candy sweet” is now just a lyric. The album could be different relative to something else, like maybe it’s super different from COTCC, but it’s not something that Lana can’t pull off, if that makes sense. Anyways, Mike Dean’s instrumental record is beautiful and I would love if BB had some of those cool synths and synthetic electric guitars. They kind of have a classic-rock feel to them, like something out of a Pink Floyd live show, and I feel like she could totally weave that vibe into her own sound. I remember when we found out BRTHR was directing the COTCC video and we thought it would be way more graphic and left-of-centre than it actually was, which was amazing actually, because they still stayed true to Lana’s style while just adding the perfect amount of something new and extra. Mike Dean’s influence on BB could be of that nature.
  13. When album 3 is a collaboration with Trisha Paytas under her Sadboy2005 alias - Dealer is on that album
  14. Should I?? I’ve been thinking about it for like, years, but I just never got around to it! Maybe I will, thank you bestie (and yes, sorry, Elle for going OT!)
  15. STOP because I was waiting for someone to reply with this and that’s why I phrased it that way One of my favourite movies ever!
  16. Oh and to add - she announced her sixth album as White Hot Forever in August 2019, but when on tour 3 months later, told a fan that it may not be the album title anymore. She didn’t tell that fan in Texas that the album wasn’t called Rock Candy Sweet anymore, she just confirmed that it was an album.
  17. **Also to add to the idea of a double album** 1. We know she needs to have an album finished and begun being pressed to vinyl 90 days before the release date. 2. She announced Rock Candy Sweet on March 20th for a June 1st release - she should have started vinyl production by March 3rd, the latest, then. 3. She announced Blue Banisters on April 28th for a July 4th release - she should have started vinyl production on April 5th, the latest. 4. ***She told the fan in Texas that Rock Candy Sweet is an album on April 4th.*** Meaning Rock Candy Sweet would have already started vinyl production a month earlier and Blue Banisters would have to start vinyl production the next day if it hadn’t already. The math is mathing! Double album <3 (Although things can change on a dime and delays happen, so this is not to be taken directly, please don’t come for me lol) Edit: Oh and to add - she announced her sixth album as White Hot Forever in August 2019, but when on tour 3 months later, told a fan that it may not be the album title anymore. She didn’t tell that fan in Texas that the album wasn’t called Rock Candy Sweet anymore, she just confirmed that it was an album.
  18. I love this idea! I’m not sure either though, because I think “who said Jack isn’t on the ALBUM tho” is in response to his previous comment where he said that the title track was not produced with her usual collaborators, meaning that Jack could still have worked on other songs that will appear on the album. I’m still not sure though lol!
  19. That’s what I think too - Blue Banisters as a title evokes a sort of natural progression from Chemtrails’s themes but Rock Candy Sweet suggests something a bit more rough around the edges. So I wonder if they’re two albums paired together that are meant to represent two very different sides of Lana.
  20. Awww, thank you, that is seriously so sweet. So are you
  21. What if the “inevitable pushback” is because it’s a double album? Blue Banisters / Rock Candy Sweet and that’s why it’s so different? It would inevitably be pushed back because an album with twice the amount of tracks by her standards is harder to line up for release? Maybe nobody guessed the genre correctly because in actuality it’s two genres that create this fusion sound that’s split between two full-length albums branded as one? And he can’t believe she’s doing this because it’s such a unique, ambitious thing? While I think it’s unlikely, it’s definitely a possibility! Especially since she didn’t delete the post about Rock Candy Sweet and did confirm its existence as an album to that fan in Texas literally a week before her first post with the title Blue Banisters.
  22. Just caught up with everything and here are my two cents: 1. Him referring to the album as a “project” probably doesn’t mean anything. So many people - mostly reviewers/critics - refer to albums as projects. 2. The genres that people guessed - hip-hop, alt-rock, country, folk, pop, PC music - are very broad when you look at the semantics of them. So while the album may still technically fall under that genre, he may be referring specifically to a sub-genre of music that is way more defined than a mere umbrella term. 3. Something “crazy different” suggests it’s unlike anything Lana has done before. That could mean a lot of things - sonically, lyrically, visually, etc, or structurally - maybe the poetry is mixed into the record, but I don’t think so, because she seems to enjoy having her poetry be its own thing with a separate book/spoken-word release (and I really like that too, personally!) I don’t know what we’re in for, honestly, as everything we thought it would be seems to have been disputed, but truthfully, music is in the eye of the beholder. I remember when LMLYLAW was compared to Fine China, and I don’t think I ever would have made that comparison personally. 4. The comment about “push-back” being a delay is something that we all could have concluded knowing Lana’s history with past releases. Unless he knows something that we don’t, I think anyone could have easily guessed that the album would be delayed. This is no shade to any insiders btw! Just putting into words the thoughts that a lot of us may have, or helping people come to logical conclusions for their own ease!
