Honestly I feel like many of the people who voted Leave were not very educated on what exactly that will entail. Apparently some woman whose farm was subsidised by the EU believed that the UK government will start doing that themselves. There was also another study that showed that most county's/areas that voted Leave were the ones who were the most financially dependent on the EU's money, which makes me believe they all have the same optimistic view on their government. With so many consequences striking UK over this decision already these people are going to have a rude wake up call very soon if not already.

The value of the £ has already plummeted dramatically and is at its lowest since 1985. The UK economy is no longer in the top 5 best economies in the world and the FTSE has gone down 8.4%, or roughly £130 billion. Lots of banking groups have had their values wiped out in a matter of minutes - Lloyds, for example, has gone down 30%. Around half a million jobs will be lost and the GDP will be almost 4% lower than if we stayed in the EU by 2017. After 15 years, the cost of leaving the EU will be about £4300 per household per year, which works out to be £36 billion a year.

That's just the short-term economic consequences as well. There's issues like national security, immigration and trade - along with many more - that haven't been realised yet.

I still think Lana is ISFP.  (Crediting Maru/PUPPY for the initial insight, of course.) Her Feeling seems decidedly introverted -- she wants to be part of a group of artists, but it seems she is willing to go it alone until she finds like-minded individuals, rather than conforming to one that exists or forming one around herself. I agree that her Intuition is introverted, and it is strong, but her extraverted Sensing seems even stronger -- she seems very much in the present (her songwriting is often in-the-moment) and feeling a need to seek out experiences. I strongly suspect her function stack is Fi-Se-Ni-Te (with a strongly developed third function), thus ISFP.

I'm sure enough about the Fi and Ni combination to venture a guess that INTJ (Ni-Te-Fi-Se) is more likely than INFP (Fi-Ne-Si-Te) for Lana. I would be surprised if extraverted Sensing were her "inferior" function... but perhaps that would indicate her willingness to embrace her "dark side" rather than run from it. She does display a lot more warmth than a stereotypical Thinker, but perhaps her middle functions Te and Fi are in balance. A strong extraverted Thinking function would certainly explain her success -- working hard for years until she made it, and remaining satisfied with nothing less than maintaining control of her vision.

(Beyond Myers-Briggs to consider the work of Elaine Aron) I also think Lana is a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) who tends to be vulnerable to understimulation, rather than overstimulation like the majority of HSPs.

  8. Starsx liked a post in a topic by Summersault in What musical direction should Lana go in for LDR5?
Soft LA rock suits her so well where she is  in her life right now, like a Fleetwood Mac kinda sound.

If she ever went back to a more r'n'b/hiphoppish direction again I would love to hear her work with Illangelo and Doc McKinney - the producers behind The Weeknds first three mixtapes - I would especially love to hear her over the sound of the Thursday mixtae even though I can't tell if it would be too depressing

Or maybe something more tropical and flowery with a 60's exotic, luxurious orchestration kinda like this

Oh and on another note I think she should start writing for other mainstream artists. She can really write and she can definitely bring some substance into the Top 40. Songs like Puppy Love, Serial Killer, MMITPM, Prom Song, etc, showcase her writing abilities for more pop oriented music. She could easily write songs for artists like Britney, Selena Gomez, etc just like Charli XCX does.
  11. Summersault liked a post in a topic by BabyTonight in Is Lana Declining?
She already declined. But her sales are quite impressive for her, someone who doesn't really promote. In terms of quality, no. 'Honeymoon' is NOT a bad album and has some of the best songs she's ever written such as the title track, 'Terrence Loves You', and 'God Knows I Tried', even the 'The Blackest Day' is up there!

The album is enjoyable though I don't listen to it as much as the others. Her best album is Ultraviolence, and I think she should go back to making Rock influenced pop music again. It really suited her, her image, her voice, her lyrics, etc.

I may be biased, because I love Lana a lot, as a person. I will always support her by showing her positivity, constructive criticism, and of course purchasing her music. For the fans who are less than impressed nowadays, I don't see the point in complaining. Just move on from her if you feel that way.

    Hey guys

I made a mashup of Brooklyn Baby and "Loft Music" by The Weeknd.

Came to think of something Abel said about Lana once:
"I feel like we’ve always been talking to each other through our music. She is the girl in my music, and I am the guy in her music."
I like to imagine this as Loft Music from the perspective of one of the girls in the song

Hope you like it, but criticism is always welcome!

I'm not even a Lorde fan, but people dissing her looks is getting really tiresome. It's off-topic and come on, show some Christmas spirit by NOT trashtalking a 17-years old girl you don't know and who never even claimed to be pretty herself.

Now back to stalking a 28-years old girl we don't know

Lana is friends with a woman called Jane Powers, and I don't have FB receipts but they appear to be quite close. I think she's the one Lana mentions in this interview as one of her closest friends:

    http://lanadelreyonline.com/lana-del-rey-interviewed-by-elle-uk/

Jane Powers used to be a Fords model, and I would love to know more about Lana's model career. Do any of you know if Jane "scouted" her or something?
(Maybe this belong in minor questions.)

    EDIT: She didn't.

I love the original single version that first came out where her chorus vocals were kind of muddled...it's been replaced everywhere (iTunes, CDs, etc) by the one with the more clear vocals and drums, it doesn't make me feel as much. I hope I never lose my copy of it.

    still her best album
  23. Summersault liked a post in a topic by brooklynbaby91 in Is Lana Declining?
Artistically, I don't think she's declining. She's exploring different sounds with each album, so it might be hard to take if you're super attached to a sound from one specific era of hers. You have BTD stans who keep waiting for her to return to that style of music, UV stans who wanted her to continue that way, meanwhile Lana just wants to make songs with whatever sound she finds interesting at the time.

There's no denying that budget-wise things aren't as great as they were in the BTD days when she was putting out masterpieces like the Ride video. But I think this is a result of a business situation rather than because Lana is starting to suck.
  24. Summersault liked a post in a topic by evilentity in Is Lana Declining?
The only thing declining is the quality of discussion on this forum.

"Video Games" and AKA were what made me a fan. I loved her songwriting on BTD for the most part, but the production was a big disappointment to me. I would absolutely be here if HM had been Lana's debut album. HM is more the record I had hoped BTD would be.
