Oh this is interesting… although since Eclipse said that everyone wanted their DATMATBC (theWhite Dress acronym), he might have hinted that it’s part of lyrics… I don’t mind a long ass title, but I prefer something shorter for a song and if that acronym is indeed a song title, well, the lyrics of this album will be interesting to say it politely

I guess there’s something we don’t know that happened behind the scenes? although I do remember, in the BB era, BoZ had posted the lyrics of Thunder and everyone was asking him if the song was on the album and he said yeah, but to stop jumping to conclusions and be obsessed all the time, and I was like 🙄🙄🙄.

Vinyls aren’t my thing but I get why people love them, although I hate that the more variants there are for an album, the more likely the release will be further down the road.

Off topic, but Crazy for you, although a HM outtake, is not the most interesting snippet we got. It seems a bit lethargic and with a lot of piano My Dark City, on the other hand… or the mysterious Dragon Slayer anyways, I wonder if we’ll get an outtake from another era with this album.

Friends of insiders never seem like a good source of info to me… If they talk too much, their new « friend » won’t give them any more gifts… Call me old fashioned, but I prefer when Alexa or Shazam spill the beans by accident or when some anonymous rando posts here and we have to remember when they said to see if it checks out (this is my 7000th post here )

Oh another thought, a bit far-fetched but still… he called the Weyes album AOTY… and then there were the acronyms… could Lana’s album be a bit reminiscent of Weyes’s masterpiece? If so, this will be me on my first listen:

Now that we know that the acronyms are surely about Lana, it’s exciting to think that after a couple of weeks of saying the album was a masterpiece, BoZ still loves at least one song out of the lot (like it’s easy to get excited when an album is released, but will it stand the test of time?)

I totally agree with you: any insider, other than BoZ or Eclipse, I don’t believe 100%. So far, DragonWhore’s descriptions have been consistent (and more plausible than TheDollClub’s descriptions - EDM on a Lana track?!?) and the FJM collab gives them some credibility. If the description of the album is true, it’s everything I love about my 3 fave albums from her the surf rock anthem of Beautiful was lustforlife’s, who just plain invented or got trolled by someone who made them believe it to be true. The funniest part might have been when they tried to defend that description though

Edit: I went back to their posts and will summarize it here: strings, orchestral, cinematic (a bit like HM); lazy, hazy, dreamy but also menacing (strong psychedelic vibes) if we loved Buddy’s Rendezvous, we’d love the direction of this album. Think Northern California illegal pot farmers / communes with cultish vibes. More cohesive direction / vision than COCC and BB. lyric tease: psychedelic trip, half moon bay, for Jim I’ll stay

Ever since she included a reworked Yayo on Paradise, I don’t have a lot of hope for a aka rerelease to be honest… I like aka but don’t see the album as whole being rereleased…

I dont know what to make of the Neil comment… I interpret it as either: - a photoshoot did happen and they’re about to reveal it; - a photoshoot is planned in the coming weeks / months; - or they know they will work together again sometime in the future but nothing formal is planned yet (I had an ex who would say « see you soon », but the « soon » in question was almost a month later 🙄😭)
