We’re entering June… and my birthday is very near… Passed eras, I got the UV title track released on my birthday and she teased the NFR title track with a snippet. Manifesting something as iconic this year

Aren’t we all happy Lana is still with Interscope and didn’t switch to Capitol when we thought she might have?
-
It’s been way too quiet on her part…

The last three songs are some of her best. Change is almost prophetic of the pandemic and the pandemic fatigue (“it’s bitter, I’m coughing and now it’s in my blood” / “who am I to sympathize when no one gave a damn” / “there’s a change gonna come, I don’t know where or when” ). Norman also felt prophetic, at moments. Now I’m really curious about t he topics of this album, her post-pandemic state of mind. (By the way, i really love talking to you and reading your POV on different topics )

I really love it too. Some songs are weaker or I don’t connect as much with them, but they all are very enjoyable to listen to. I get why it was considered a bit “all over the place” by some (HM being her most cohesive album, just released before her least cohesive sure didn’t help), but my life was a bit messy as well, so I connected with the vast majority of the songs on it. I really hope LDR9 is going into a bigger sound and production, with a couple of good singles. She needs to have a “hit”.

Stans here aren’t loving LFL for sure (many of us at least), but it did very well outside of LB: it’s the second album, after BTD, to have reached 1B streams, it went number 1. Many didn’t mind that it was “incohesive”… Which makes me remember that LB is not the whole Lana fandom and some of our opinions might not be shared by a vast majority of her fans.

Serene Queen, which was made at the very beginning of the album, is a bit witchy to me, but I don’t know if it was considered to be on the tracklist (can’t believe she never found a home for that one, plus it was really finished and not just a demo; Hope we get to hear an HQ version of it on album where it fits).

Not sure about the trilogy thing either (I see more of a loose pattern each two albums), but there is a continuity, theme-wise, on BTD-PD-UV-HM: moving from Ny to establish yourself on the West Coast as a singer. In her relationships, she is not often portrayed as the one in charge and her string of dangerous men often seem to have “the upper hand” in the relationship. But since Norman, yes her men are still terrible, but there’s a feeling that she is there by choice and won’t crumble to the ground if the dude leaves her. LFL being for the fans is not totally stupid though that it is not the total picture either. Love is a tribute to her younger fans, but there’s more on LFL to please fans: Emile worked on Love, Tim Larcombe was brought back for Cherry, many fans wanted a collab with the Weeknd and ASAP, Justin Parker is a producer and writer on BPBP, there are sadcore songs on this album as well (13B, Heroin). The “political” songs are her choice, Change also, but it’s true that the initial Concept changed (spacey - witchy-new Agey- folkyish quest to happiness… As for Yosemite, it could also be seen as a love letter to her fans and her lover (we all did it for the right reasons, whether it’s her career or her love life)… but LFL didn’t find the happy ending she wished she’d find by the time she finished it (the world was still a mess, she did have another breakup, and well, her fans were her fans, leaking demos lol).

I’ll probably make a thread soon about my profile pic (it’s from an app; i uploaded Lana selfies and it turns her into a “Disney princess”). I thought it was time to switch things up a bit.

Can’t remember if it was BoZ or Eclipse, but I think it was BoZ, on ATRL, who said that Rock Candy Sweet was just a single line on LYTAN (like you said, shadesofyosemite). RCS is the new “candle in the wind”, apparently, but I wonder if the line is featured in another song apart from LYTAN and WCE, possibly a scrapped track on BB? I mean, she was going to name the album after that line, so to hear it only once on the album (and not be a title track) would have been a first for sure for her.
-
Eclipse made that assumption on ATRL. He said BTD - UV - HM form a trilogy; LFL was made for the fans so it doesn’t count in a trilogy; NFR-COCC -BB form another (the singer-songwriter trilogy). Before WCE was out, he said she had made new songs that could open up to a “new trilogy”… I read into that that it was something different from the last albums, whether or not if there really is something planned that much ahead (but I don’t think so). The real question is: How much did he hear actually? Honeymounz, on IG, said there were three other songs submitted for Euphoria but only WCE got picked up. So, I think he heard those songs and maybe DNC if it was finished back then?
-
If he hadn’t say he made it for her, plus the Polaroid like you said, it could have meant anything. But I doubt he made it for her “randomly”… and there is nothing her discography that have the DNC initials, I think… unless he misspelled Deadly Night Shade that would that would be underwhelming

Crazy for You Loved You Then and Now

DNC being the lead single is possible if LDR Village is indeed having jackets made with the logo. Unless the song went down the chopping board… as for the title being Del Norte County, I never thought it would be it until Rob said there were beautiful SF songs made for the album, so maybe… anyways, DragonWhore was called a liar a couple of times by @fl0r1dakil0s. And everything DragonWhore shared is a little bit too good to be true… A lead in July, orchestral yet menacing vibes for the album, psychedelic undertones… I mean, isn’t it the dream Lana album!?
-
DragonWhore said Del Norte County would be released in July (I guess it’s the name of the lead and not the album). If she hasn’t started teasing it in June or if there isn’t anything else album-related in that month, I am not expecting DNC in July, to be honest.

True, there are revenge undertones to that song as well! -

I think the Trio has more meaning than being added for fun. The beginning of BBS is also a sample from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Plus BBS is her “revenge” song, so to have that ominous intro like the Trio is actually pretty great: here’s what you’ve been waiting for, y’all!!! (Manifesting a complex song like this or White Dress on LDR9… something a bit strange, a bit unpolished at moments but certainly a song to go back to and to get accustomed to) -
My guess about the description of BB songs: 1- he made it up for the attention; 2- he got trolled hard and gave us that info regardless (we know he speaks to someone that knows many things about Lana). didn’t he also say that if we loved LFL, we’d love BBS?!? And later on saying it’s because it’s « different from the rest of the album » when they probably made an assumption we’d get trap beats based on the Trio.

Not bad… but not Downhill Lullaby either. I don’t know if I’ll go back to this song much in the next weeks 🤷🏼
-
yeah, that line gave it away… that and the bartender storyline, who has a black soul, doing black magic, and then with his « black hand stealing from the tip jar » or something like that some of the other lyrics were pretty decent though. Agreed! Even when we’re trolled, it’s fun.
-
I swear, at some point, Lana will read those fake lyrics.. and copy paste them as her own on a new song… and nobody will be able to prove shit that she stole from them

-
This era is similar to NFR, with its bunch of new insiders and conflicting info…

Link to Honeymouns account? Thanks! Édit: nvm, found it

Really hope DNC wasn’t scrapped or wish that I had never known about it if it is the case back in December, I honestly haven’t even thought that the jacket could be related to new music.
